hello friends, i may be posting in the wrong section but i just have a general question. My laptops motherboard is dead and it wont turn on. I dont want to replace the mb, since its costly. My question is can i retrieve data of my hard drive. And any idea how much it may cost. Thanks in advance.

Once you have removed the hard drive from your laptop. Please check the attached picture,it will help you recognize if your hard drive is SATA or IDE.Accordingly just buy a portable HDD casing (sata/ide) and connect your laptop Hard drive to it and plug it to any computer. You should be able to see your data.
