My screen resolution is 1440 x 900. Many games do not support this resolution. Many new games are also having trouble with this resolution. Screen simply displays 'UNSUPPORTED'. What should i do?

My system configurations are:-
Motherboard - Intel DH55TC
Ram - Corsair 2x2GB DDR3
Processor - Intel core i5
Hard Drive - Segate 2 TB
Graphic Card - Palit Nvidia GTX 460

I am using my LCD TV as a monitor and that's when the trouble started. Many games display a black screen and 'NOT SUPPORTED' is written in the middle. Is there any way to solve this problem.
