Hey guys, i have BSNL Broadband connection and i have Teracom Type-2 Modem, which has 4 lan ports and 1 USB port, M a noob when it is networking, so i want to ask a Question, my friend recently bought a new Laptop and i want to play multiplayer games and share some heavy files with him at my home!!

My question is if we both connect to the modem will it Eat my Bandwidth in sharing files and playing games or not??? as i have a limited plan of 2.5GB/2Mbps, so please answer me ASAP!!!

no.data transfer is only counted if you transfer data from your bsnl IP which again needs to be put in lan settings of game.also when you connect 2 or more systems to a router windows automatically detects them after some settings & then you can simply browse using explorer to copy/paste from/to shared folders on network.
