My friend has a pendrive which everytime it is inserted in his laptop shows the shortcuts instead of the actual file.
I have tried autorun exterminator , malwarebytes anti-malware full scan which shows nothing & the command "attrib -s -r -h /s /d *.*" which works for a few seconds & shows the actual files but immediately afterwards shows the shortcut files only and hides the actual files. In any other computer like mine the command works as it is supposed to and shows the actual files indefinitely but on inserting in my friend's computer it immediately reverts back to showing shortcuts. Thus I have deduced that the virus is not on the pendrive but on the computer itself. please suggest something to solve this problem.

tell your friend to try avast/avira free version on his pc, if he doesn't wants to buy Kaspersky or Bitdefender

First scan the whole PC with a good[authentic] updated anti virus s/w like avast/kaspersky.

then if it doesnt work, do a full format of the PC, with all the drives [C:, D: etc..]
