Ans: INR25000 (lesser the better)

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: WinXP n Win 7 professional / ultimate

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: planning to buy a 2TB hdd. will use one 160GB samsung sata drive also

6. Do you want to buy a monitor?
Ans: already have a 20inch Dell in2020M

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: 2 160GB samsung HDDs, 1 ASUS DVD writer

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: in a month

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: i have built one and will do it for him

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Lucknow and yes to both

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: this will be used for quite some time like 1-3 years. person is a simple user, no overclocking will be done. he will use a wireless router / wired modem with a broadband connection. simple keyboard n mouse only. also simple cabinet only with a cooling fan.

later, he plans to get a 5.1 speaker set. he has seen a iball wooden set and it interested in that. any ideas about that?

Antec vp 450p psu - rs 2800

For that configuration and if you do not plan to add a GPU above an HD7750 get the Antec BP300P SMPS/PSU for Rs 1850 and a normal large generic cabinet or for a bit of a quality get the Antec NSK4400 - Rs 1300 ,since your PC wont generate much or low heat theres no need to get an expensive cabinet in this case or configuration. But do not get cheap local PSU as it will damage your comuter sooner or later.

Intel G2020 Rs 3725
Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2/ASUS P8H61-M LX R2.0 - Rs 3100/2900
Corsair Value Select 1333 Mhz 4GB - Rs 2600
Toshiba/Seagate 2TB - Rs 6000
Antec NSK4400 - Rs 1300
Antec BP300P SMPS for Rs 1850
Keyboard and Mouse Logitech Generic - Rs 550

Total - Rs 18,825

Thats all you need basically. With the money saved get a good 5.1 from Edifier/Creative,its much better than an iball Tarang or the wood one you are reffering to.

isn't i3 cpu better than g2020?

what about h67 mbs?

if not needed, then a graphics card will not be taken.

I3 is faster than g2020 in games and multitasking work.In Normal usage like browsing, playing videos.. they both perform similar.

You can go with either H61 or b75 mobo. Extra features of B75 is hdmi port and Usb3.

Intel Hd 2000 inbuilt gpu is more than enough to play Hd 720p and 1080p content.

External gpu is not needed

Coz there is no SUBSTANTIAL gain for the diff price we will pay for i3. For 7-8K I'll suggest AMD Fx 6300 6 core 14 MB cache processor not the crap i3/i5. And OP has asked 'would be better if less than 25k' :)

multitasking is done a lot by him so i3 is preferred.

is this b75 board better than h67? hdmi + usb3 is good as he may opt for a better monitor as this one is some 2 years old. suggestions for monitor also please (not included in the budget).

Yes, the b75 board is better than h67. B75 chipset is tailor-made for Ivy-Bridge

At Rs 1300 you wont get SMPS and moreover you dont need a 1600MHZ RAM with a G2020,its waste since it cant utilize the bandwidth!

4th gen i3/penitum is not released in india. only i5/i7 is released.
get antec vp450p if you think on adding new components in near future(gpu, hdds etc.) else get antec bp300p.

from the suggestions i have concluded:

Processor : i3 3220 (7300)
Motherboard : Gigabyte B75M DH3 (4200)
RAM : Corsair Value Select 1333 Mhz 4GB - Rs 2600
Cabinet : Antec NSK4400 - Rs 1300
or
NZXT Gamma (2300)
PSU : antec vp450p

Keyboard & Mouse : Simple Logitech or Pleomax (i am using them for the last 1 1/2 years without any problem)

2 120 mm case fans (700)

> 1600MHz ram for future proof, to upgrade ur processor+MB in future. I know th extra bandwidth will not be used by g2020 but its good to have a good ram

> for monitor, I have done some research in 22-24" category with better color accuracy. And I finally zeroed with AOC i2369vm AH-IPS panel 23" monitor around 13k

> If I'll buy a processor worth 7k budget, I'll definitely buy AMD Fx 6300 6 core 14MB cache. It will surpass any i3/i5 with same or higher price.

i too feel i3 as this pc will be used for at least 2-3 years without any MB / processor upgrade.

If OP can spend 7k+ for processor then why not AMD Fx6300 6 core 14 MB cache ?

is it better? i and my friend both are slightly biased towards intel and have not used any amd till date. he may go for it if it is better than i3.

The i3 has an IGP.

integrated graphics?

not dell s2440l?

when MB / processor is upgraded, he will get higher speed ram then. btw, he is not gonna use any overclocking any time soon (next 2-3 years :D)

for amd, same question as asked above.

TYVM for the suggestions friends.

1.No.FX-6300 will require a discrete GPU(1-2k extra),also it is a wee bit expensive than the i3.And you will be forced to buy the Asus M5A97 R2.0 EVO(8-9k) for "Overclocking" to make your pc "future-proof"
2. Integrated Graphics Processor

Then we can go for AMD based AGP solutions rather than high priced+low performance Intel CPUs.

cheaper boards like gigabyte ga-78mlt usb3 has onboard graphics(which i think is faster than intel igp afaik) can be paired with fx 6300.so he may not need to go with a dedicated gpu.

I did not say Intel i3/i5 processors are of low performance, rather said, for the same price or even lower price one can have much much better AMD solution than Intel. Its everything about money honey. AMD is always value for money which respects your HARD EARNED money well than Intel.

should be working as that processor is listed as being compatible from the F3 BIOS revision, which was released in October last year. so I would now expect this or a later revision to be included on any boards shipping now.

not in every price segment. athlon IIx2 will not be able to beat pentium g2020.
