1. Budget?

Rs.10,000 (maximum)

2. Display type and size?

>3.5" (touch) & 2.4" (non-touch)

3. Form Factor? bar, slider, flip?

Bar

4. Preferred choice of brand?

Anything except desi brands like LAVA, iBall etc.

5. Preferred input method (QWERTY, touchscreen, numpad, touch-n-type).

Touchscreen or QWERTY

6. What camera option you want? Please specify need for flash, autofocus, front facing camera.

Anything will do

7. Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).

Windows>Android>Symbian

8. Preferred connectivity options (3G, Wifi etc)Please specify clearly.

3G and Wifi is unavoidable

9. Preferred applications (Flash, Swype, GPS, etc)?

GPS, WhatsApp and other basic apps.

10. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, mails, internet, gaming etc)?

For heavy texting, moderate calling, loads of music and video playback, checking mails and surfing the net, moderate gaming.

11. Any specific mobile phones in consideration?

Lumia 520, Ascend G300, Xperia E etc.

12. Any other info that you want to share

Honeslty I prefer Lumia 520 because of its decent specs. If the price drops below 10,000 will it be a wise choice to get it? And I know that Nokia E5 is a pretty outdated phone, but looking at the build quality and QWERTY keyboard, is it worth considering?

Buy a Lumia 520 as you prefer WP8 OS. You won't be disappointed. But, remember to read the reviews before buying. Even at 10.5k, L520 is VFM. WP8 has deep integration for Texting.

I won't recommend buying an E5, now. But, wait for the mobile gurus to reply.

LUMIA 520 looks promising, the price will come down to 10k once the phone is out else use coupons. Wait for few days after the release and make sure there is no issue with the device. There was other storage issue with LUMIA 620 and it was sorted out later.

P.S. Grab the RED one, its super :hot:

The "other" storage issue was not with Lumia 620. It was with WP8. Next update should fix the issue in L920 and L820. L620 is shipping with the fix. Hopefully, L520 and L720 should also ship with the fix for that issue.

No problem. It happens, bro. Only God has to save us from becoming fanboys of Lumia series.

Finally, Nokia included Expandable Storage Capacity in Lumia 520.

P.S. Grab the RED one, its super :hot:

It got 5 interchangeable color shells. So, no worries.

Thanks guys for the response. I've got a query though, my friend owns a Lumia 710 and he's so frustrated that he can't share files via bluetooth. Is that actually a drawback of WP os? Or has it been fixed in the current version?

Does the seller warranty include replacement? Or repair? And I've read somewhere about a screen glitch (like a white circle or something) in Pantech Burst. Have you experienced anything like that?

Is the situation same with the new Lumia series too?

Every phone has its drawback. What matters is how you cope with it, for the price you paid.
I dint have Lumia, maybe Lumia owners can confirm that.

With WP7.x you can't share files through bluetooth. But, with WP8 you CAN SHARE files via bluetooth.

Well said, buddy. But, WP8 seems to have lots of issues than any other OS.

Just go through the "The Windows Phone" thread here on TDF and visit WPCentral Forums. You will see a lot of bugs reported by WP8 owners. All are minor bugs which can be solved by a software update (though).

Some important bugs are "other" storage issues(fix is coming in the next update), a bug in People Hub as reported by one of the fellow TDF member and the likes.

In addition to this, one of the major issues will be some features, apps and games won't work in devices having less than 1Gb of RAM.
