one of my friend used to use Sancharnet Bulk sms sender/SMS sender to send SMS , but now he shifted to BSNL broadband , [30 ps /sms]
Can any1 suggest me a software to send SMS via internet cheap or free

There are many sms services like mycantos or 160by2 on the internet. I do not know how safe they are. I mean I would be wary of sending messages through these. AFAIK, they gather the numbers you send smses to and then send advertising/spam messages to these.

I used to use 160by2.com. Through that we could have only send messages of 80 characters. Have heard, they have increased the characters, but never bothered to check again.
Now I use way2sms.com. Nice site. Very reliable. We can also track a number, of its location. (on a state level only, of course).
Well, if I were you, I wouldn't be spending a dime on sending bulk sms's to Indian phones.
I use way2sms.com and other such services to send sms's , even though you get the "-by way2sms.com" footer at the end of every sms.
For the more technically inclined, you can try using the operator gateways to send sms's. All you need is a good program to do it.
