Hi Guys,

I am buying a new 4K TV and shortlisted two models after so much research.

1. Sony X950G 55"
2. Samsung Q80R 55"

Now, I am in a dilemma which one to buy ? both have their pros and cons.

Your valuable suggestion is much appreciated....

Check these threads:
Debate for Best 4K Qled TV - SAY NO TO OLED.
One Plus TV is coming ! What are your expectations ?

P.S. the 2nd thread title is one plus tv but the post I linked to is not related to it.

edit: Samsung 55 inch Frame Tv is for 85K

Not gonna buy OnePlus though they have taken the QLED display from Samsung but the brightness is not as good as the Samsung QLED panels.
and also the After sales support of OnePlus is not as good as Sony/Samsung.

OLED is out of scope as it has its own major issues of degradation & burn-in.

@rhitwick : Around 130k for a good deal ;)

Yes, seen that comparison. And Samsung seems a winner here.
But there are few points which is worth my concern between the two.

Sony: Dolby Vision, Accurate Colors, eARC, Excellent Motion, SD upscaling

Samsung: Deep Blacks, Less Blooming in Dark room, VRR, Better viewing Angles

If you want to use Indian content, I wouldn't recommend skipping the upscaling option. The more decent it is, the better.

Yeah, Moving towards SONY than Samsung...still looking for more info.
Sony has lot of options for calibrating because of Android OS, whereas in Tizen it is limited scope.

Though the DCI-P3 score is higher in Samsung, but the skin tone is more natural in Sony :)

Remember Netflix has mostly Dolby Vision HDR content . If that is your primary source then I lean towards Sony.

Since you are spending this much, try to keep OS out of the equation. I recently bought Panasonic for its panel, even though LG had much superior OS. Panasonic's web store is apparently barren. But you can always buy a Fire stick 4K & solve the OS issue.

Obviously make sure OS has basic stuff.

I'm not considering the OS for making the selection. Even I prefer TizenOS/WebOS.
