I need to move some files from my Sony Z1 phone to my PC or create backup. The phone memory is getting full.
However when I connect my Sony Z1 to my PC the phone is not getting detected.
It however is able to connect to the SD card in the phone.
How can I ensure that the phone is detected by my PC.
I believe suggestion would be to update the drivers in my PC.

I faced similar problems with my old Nexus 4

In my case N4 was being detected but doesn't show up in File Explorer. What I did was remove the phone, which was shown in Device Manager(Uninstall the device from Device Manager), restart my computer & connect the phone. Its drivers will install again & it will start showing up in File Explorer

In My device manager I don't see anything with the phone name.

Check if some unknown device shows up when phone is connected. Try someone else's system too
