Suggest a handset upto 10K

I am looking for new handset preferably from Nokia upto 10K.
The models I am currently interested in are 5320, 7310 or 5700.
Please suggest which one of these or others you can think are the best?
Also you can suggest from other manufacturers.

When compared to SONY ERICSSON W810i - these 3 models from nokia are are dump ............. GO for SE W810i superb camera clarity /voice clarity /sound boost ...etc

IMO 5320 is better. but it has a smaller screen than 5700, s60 feature pack 2, ngage

i'll suggest u to go for Nokia 5320 XM if u r lukin for a music fone...
not only music its very good for gaming[ngage supported] too
it comes bundled vth a free 1gb card n also d price is just 9.8k
this fone is really very fast n lives upto d expectations

d only downside of this fone is its CAMERA although d cam is 2mp vth flash but its just abt average... dont faint its not that bad either

it produces pretty nice pics under good lighting condition...

Overall its a fantastic fone n its a steal deal at this price, very good for music & gaming.

how can u call a smartphone a dumb .
W810 is a very old phone and out of production , get nokia 5320 or sony ericsson k790 .
5320 will be a better option if u do well with 2mp cam .

Thanks for all of your inputs. So looking at your suggestions and other reviews at other websites, I have decided to go for 5320 XM. I checked the price in Pune. No one is giving it less than Rs. 9880. What do you think? Is it okay to go with this price or should I bargain more?

I have bought 5320 yesterday. I found it to be very good overall. Only thing which is bad is its camera. They should have provided a better camera for a few hundred/a thousand rupees more. I also found its sound output to be less intensive than my old 6030. While traveling it is more difficult to hear. But still it is a real value for money.

I bought it for Rs. 9980 from Telephone Shoppe, Pune. Every other store has the same price of near Rs. 10000.

And does it show 90 mb of free executable ram...?? If yes then low memory close some apps error is not likely to b seen...

^^ Yes it has 140 MB internal memory. And around 90 MB is free if you haven't installed any other applications. I don't have NOP or Mobile office activated yet. But I think it will be nice experience as I find the phone to be very fast. I will let you know when I activate it and how I find it.

Edit : Any one know which application to install to view avi/wmv files (If there is one)?

^To view avi files you can use Smartmovie. While I don't think wmv files can be played back as of yet, but you can try them in Core Player - which supports a wide array of formats.

Also try changing the .wmv extension to .mp4 in case the file ceases to playback.

^^ I have visited nokia site and it says 5320 has 140 MB RAM. But phone shows 128 MB RAM. So I don't know which one is correct.
And YES, my phone shows that 90 MB RAM is free.

Well i live in Calcutta so i got it from here only n u knw in Calcutta thr is one Big Grey market call "Fancy Market" whr u'll get evrythng b it iPhone or Meizu M8

n i got d 16 GB SDHC card for just 2K n my fone doesnt even hangs n trust me its still running smoothly without any glitches!
8GB costs 1k
n 4GB is moderately priced @ 350/450 bucks

bought 5320 xm for 9.9k and the phone is very good and quite fast...audio quality is also good but bundled headphone are crap and i use other good quality headphones.

its old firmware...i already hacked it...! U know...but the phone is lil bit buggy...! It really need some serious upgrades...and may b some improvement in sound quality considering it is audio chiped...and also in video playback...!! Hardware wise the phone is great...

now planingg to put in 4gb card in it...hope it dosent lag with it...! As my friends n81 lags with sandisk 4gb sdhc card....

yeah right fone really needs some upgrade i face a strange problem wen i listen music through d headfones, like it stops playin music then i've to plug-out d heafone n plug-in again n abt d video fone itself supports no. of formats but inbuilt video player shud always b avoided, although m using smartmovie n d video playback is really smooth...
n for d audio part i've disabled d loudness n stereo widening bcos its useless, try doin that then u may like d results[m4a playback is much better in d fone compared to mp3]

i dint face any prob like music stop playing...! Anyways until the newer firmware is unhackable we have to wait...! Not tried smartmovie yet...but in core player the playback was not upto mark...may b this is just my feeling as i had n80 earlier

earlier i was using 16gb card vth my fone n i dint face any kind of problem
now m using 4gb card myself so i can guarantee u that it wont get sluggish!!
n i personally dont like core player but tried it on my fone bt was disappointed vth its performance smartmovie delivers d best whr it matters...

I do have another problem...when phone is connected in mass storage mode and i am copying a file say 400 mb in size with about 450 mb space free..the strage error would come like cannot copy this file the path is too deep..!

And abt gprs speed i get around 15-20-23 kBps

4gb was available for 700rs.

you can use 16gb card easily without any worries

yes this phone is little buggy music player hangs sometimes but if you upgrade the firmware you lose n-gage games as it becomes unhackable and you can not revert it back to previous firmware.

what all n-gage games you all are playing?

n abt Nokia n73 its not that bad as u r suggesting i used it for 8mnths
but ur view cant b ruled out either, d fone was really slow specially in d msgng section but once u upgrade d firmware u'll c a vry noticable boost in d fone during boot n also while browsing through menus..
N if by mistake u press d gallery button then b prepared to bang ur head..

Hi can anybody suggest a better file browser? The one provided with the 5320 is good, but does not show some folders like Inbox. Whenever I get a file from blue tooth, it goes to inbox. If I have to use it then I need to open it and then choose save again to create a copy of it.
I tried XploreMe 4.2, but I got java runtime expception.

^^hum....may b fexplorer can show u inbox....but it is available as unsigned app....hope u know the procedure to install unsigned apps..? If not we will b more than happy to help but forum rules wont allow us...! May b u can pm

ActiveFile Manager it supports marking multiple files n its very fast as well as much better than explore, it has got task manager too y dont u try that buddy...

Try ActiveFile Manager it shows inbox but remember it will not show ur text msgs
but it shows all d file received over bluetooth n i guess this is wat u r looking for

u can easily save ur files vch is in inbox vthout even takin d pain of opening each file..

Yes dictionary is very usefull though have not installed hindi language i use it as eng to eng...and fp2 is great..

it is kool but is of no use i think....but the search feature proves to b useful at times

D button in d top right corner is actually quite useful i've assigned file manager to that key[its a shotcut key] n wen u r in ngage u can put it to good use its like game button B while A is on d left side[rewind music button]

Ok..!! After 2 days of testing i can say that the battery life of 5320 xm increares significantly when used with minimum display brightness. The increase in life may b btween 1.5 to 1.75 times

^^I heard the new firmware has a greater battery life...but then the same problem(cannot hack)

Also try "MobileThemes.OpLogo.Changer"...this is the first series 3 operator logo changer

Does this new firmware solves the problem with display of Devanagari fonts on 5320? It displays fonts in weird way.

ya devnagri fonts are not shown correctly in older firmware..!!!
but dont know about the updated firmware..!!!

Finally mtnl launched 3g in some areas delhi and its free.
it is named as 3g jadoo.

Alright buddy i have some news...
after getting high i decided to upgrade my firmware[from 3.08 to 4.13] as my earlier firmware was full of bugs that is 3.08 but d only benefit was that it was hackable but i decided against it bcos my 1st priority was having a smooth running fone with non-stop music
Ok enough of my bakwaas i updated my fone n m vry happy now
d camera quality is slightly improved n d music playback is now even better plus d fone runs smoothly.. music through speaker is also improved earlier at tyms i use to get sum chirpy voice wen music played but not anymore

Now d big question is d new version is hackable
well my answer is yes it is indeed
just now i hacked my fone n i can now install anything on my new firmware

So buddy go ahead n update ur firmware cos now even d latest firmware is been hacked
If u have any query then do lemme know
