1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
A: Casual gaming, mostly browsing.

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A: Yes

3. What is your MAX budget?
A: 20k - 25K

4. Planning to overclock?
A: No

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A: XP

6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A: No need, already have.

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want? If you already want have one and want to use it, mention its resolution and size.
A: Already have monitor, Samsung 22 inch, full HD

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
A: 2

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A: Assembler

10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A: in a month

11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
A: yes

12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A: I dont need these - mouse, keyboard, monitor, hard drive, dvd drive, speakers

13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A: Bangalore, nope

14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: I just need a good cabbie, motherboard, processor, ram, PSU. Preferably Intel, open to AMD as well. Have an old GForce 8400 GS, so no need of a GPU. May go for a better one later, but no crossing or sli, so suggest a psu which can handle a mid-range gpu...

Llano is no match for i5 2400, right? He is having a gfx card right now, and will be adding a new later on, so better to invest in a good procy!

@techfreak- he doesnt needs a dvd drive.

@op- dont go for CM elite 3xx series, either go for CM 430,NZXT gamma, or CM 690 advanced II AND no saga II, go for corsair GS 600 to be on safe side. Although you dont need it now, but when you will add a good gfx card, it will keep you on safe side.

i5 2400- 9300
Intel DH67BL- 5200
RAM (same as above)- 1600
PSU- Corsair gs 600- 4000
Caby- CM Elite 430 / Lian Li Lancool K58W- 2500/4300

Total- 22600/24400

Thanks a lot for your suggestions, guys. Definitely would want to go for a better processor. I want to pin down on one of the suggested mobos: Intel DH67BL or Asus P8H61-M. Couldn't figure out much of a difference from the specs I saw on them.

Go for the Intel one, its better spec wise, and you won't have to face RMA/service by Rashi for asus.

I want to continue using the current 8400GS for quite some time. If I would get a new one, it might be below 10k

MSI Z68A-GD65 & GD55 are equally good as Asus line-up...

@abhi_10_20 you must really have increased your budget but if you do not wanna overclock why waste money on a unlocked processor and a overclockable motherboard.
It's just a suggestion though grab a i5 2400 + H67 board and you would be good to go
