Suggest good places to visit in Coimbatore

Hello friends !
I'm visiting Coimbatore for my SSB interview. But I will reach there two days earlier, so I'll have enough time to roam around the city.
Suggest me some good places.
Is English common there? Should I mug up some Tamil dialogues ?
