Hi! I have been using Alliance Cable Broadband(West Bengal) for a while and now Im looking for a router to share the PC connection with my 2 mobiles and a laptop. The PC in which the main lan cable is connected is in ground floor and the laptop and mobiles will be in the above floor. Please suggest the best possible router for my budget (max 2k).

Edit : had to lower budget, now 1K max.

You'll be needing a router without modem. Go for this - TP Link WR841N.

due to some unavoidable situations the budget is now limited at max 1K. so will this be good enough and able to give good coverage in the above floor as stated in OP?

D-Link DIR-600L Wireless N150 Cloud Router sells online for 1150 but if you go to GS Avenue you can get it for 950+tax (try Eastern logica or birla)

I also have a Alliance Cable Broadband and have been using this.

DO NOT BUY TPLINK!!!!!

Every time i have used them they have given me problems (i own an IT Company) and i feel Dlink gives much better performance

If you can throw light on what kind of problems did you face ? And did you find DL link a better choice ?

on average of the 30+ pcs i sold 40% went bad between 4-6 months, the warranty center took an average of 4-6 week to replace. Dlink (based on network audits) performed at par with Cisco products plus the fact that i am still using 8+ year old Dlink products which are working without problem. additionally the build quality is far superior
