Hi guys

I need a portable storage media for my "Toshiba Tecra M4" laptop. Actually I want to take a backup of all my stuffs stored in the laptop, so I need a device for storing this backup. My system assembler suggested me to purchase a laptop HDD with USB casing.

Should I go for it? or any other suggestions? and what will be the cost of it?

waiting for replies. thnx in advance. :D

Agreed...but if you need huge capacity backup (for e.g. over 200 GB) you have to go for 3.5 HDD

Try to avoid the cheap chinese cases...if possible invest in a Transcend case

There is another suggestion.
Buy a PC HDD (80 GB IDE - I prefer Seagate) :D
Then buy a IDE 2 USB 2.0 Converter which comes along with Power Adapter
Backup and enjoy

For 80GB external disk, go for 2.5 laptop HDD. Though its cost per GB is more than that of 3.5 inch variety, yet it is truly portable...
