1) What is your budget? (INR or USD) 40K (can be extended by 3-5K)

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer? try to make it 15"screen

3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook? Multimedia work like FHD movies watching, gaming(like gta4 at any setting) and internet browsing.

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ? None

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like:
b. Dislike:

No such preference

6) Anything else you would like to say?

Screen resolution whichever can run FHD movies smoothly
Battery back up whatever best i can get
Purchase place Nehru place or online (open to both)

Thanx

The cheapest FHD screen I know is on the z50-70 4042 model, which I've only seen in nehru place so far. (Try that electronic shop in the metro, or at the lenovo showroom.) It seems like a decent laptop - the only reason why I've not purchased it so far is because I can't find a mention of it online. Otherwise with a FHD screen, it has 4200u, 4 gb ram on a single slot, 500 gb hd, and 840m.

Nothing, yet. I'm chugging along with my old lenovo. Will probably wait for the diwali discounts/somebody coming in from abroad to get a new one.

I have checked this laptop with prime95 and gpu tests. max temp was 50ish in the air conditioned store, with the bus multiplier around 20.

But can we get warranty for the products we buy in US (or other countries), here in India. Can we avail international warranty for lenovo products we buy in other countries??

Z50 is also good. It'll be weaker CPU wise than G510 but more powerful GPU wise.

In totally common man terms, U means that the CPU is optimized for battery performance, it wont be as much powered as an M, which consumes much more power and performs better in CPU intensive games/apps etc.

For day to day use, unless you do some heavy rendering or gaming, a U can be a better option to get more battery life.

P.S- I have used both a U and a M laptop (none of them mine :p). I couldn't feel any difference personally on normal browsing(upto 15 tabs), movie playing etc. But I am sure while gaming , there will be a difference for resource hungry games.
