^^I suppose this may cause the Vi$ta Fanboys to celebrate, but guess what? Ubuntu was not there in the comparison

Thats only because security vulnerabilities can't happen in OSS easily, due to the speed of error reporting and correction, along with the more Classic UNIX architecture Linux has compared to Macs.
When Apple Decided to make an OS, they took the then most stable OS, FreeBSD, and modified it. But some so called usability enhancements like widgets ended up making lots of holes into the MacOS, whose numbers surprised people who thought a derivative of FreeBSD must naturally have as much, if not more security than its parent. Similar is the story when Apple made Safari from Konqueror.
I am not against Apple, but in the excuse of usability, they ignored the security risks associated with the same. The iPhone for example, runs programs in
Root mode, a shocking find for security advocates.
Its about time apple decided that Eye-Candy was not the only thing thats important, and Security is important too. Infact, it may be summarised that the main reason Apple Macs sell is because of the fact that their apps are tailored to the machine, along with nice usability. But all this has taken its toll on security too.
PS: and vi$ta $till $uck$
