Asus G72GX (G72gx-A1 variant has ddr3 i think) vs HP DV8t
Asus ke looks have seduced him to upgrade to 8GB RAM....it is worth ditching HP in longer run?
Again, extensive gaming is the gene.
Thanks.

well mention his budget.
I'll rather suggest a customized Dell or a Sony Vaio with HD 5650.

^ no one really suggested that. Just check Dell Sutdio XPS 16 and customize it. It's more than enough and will outperform both the options.
The laptops you suggested have nVidia GT 240m and GT 230m.
Funnily, I tried going on Dell.co.in and customizing Studio XPS 16, and I can't even see Core i7 in the options whereas I had bought one a year ago. :/ I even can't find Studio XPS 13. No idea whats wrong.

I will suggest him that, hopefully he gets his eyes off Asus Babe..

well, funnily this VPCEC35FG : E Series : VAIO Laptop & Computer : Sony India (Core i5-560M + HD 5650) will also outperform that Asus laptop with T9600 and GT240m. Resolution is 1600x900.
Everyone has plenty of it now. 4GB is enough. The processor and the graphic card will decide the performance.
Hardly in gaming imho. The HP one has a much faster processor. It has been ages since RAM decided the performance of a PC. (tere paas 64 hai, mere paas 128 hai)

xps16 heats up very fast,HP has horrible after sales service.Tell the spoilt rich brat to customized Sager.
Zeroed on HP DV8T with 8 GB DDR3 RAM...Sager wont provide service in india Babes
Instead of going for 8 GB DDR3 RAM, check if a GPU upgrade is available.
Which GPU does HP DV8T has? GT 230m?

1024MB (1GB) NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M
Thats the only option with this sexy chic no alternatives, am sure it can play intense games bundled with 8 Shots of DDR3 power, cant it?

Did you actually go through my posts above?
A bottleneck is a bottleneck. HD 5650 is better.

Every laptop heats up.
The ones which used to heat "very fast" were the first generation XPS. Things are better now. A laptop cooler is always advisable.
