I know, I know... we've had these threads before and nothing came of them. This time I promise it will be different.

This is a place for suggestions and also pointing out bugs.

Try to be specific... instead of general "Change the theme" feedback, try finding a theme you like, and pointing us to that, so we can see what kind of colour palette and theme you like...

When posting a bug report, make sure you test it immediately before posting. We've tried to fix a few recently. Many remain however. List them out.

You can also suggest a reordering of the forum. Complain about mods, publicly wish me bodily harm... etc... but if you keep the criticism positive we might actually be able to do some good soon.

Try and categorise feedback into the following buckets:

  1. Bugs
  2. Feature additions
  3. Specific Addons
  4. New sections
  5. General Suggestions

As usual, please read what others have posted to avoid duplicating suggestions. If you want to add your vote for a suggestion, quote them and +1 their suggestion, instead of saying the same thing in different words...

That's it... fire away...

Can you specify what's wrong with search? I just used it, worked fine for me.

We need some new features like followed in TomsHardware forum.

1.We need to implement badges like AMD Expert, CPU Expert, GPU Expert etc for certain members who are proficient in their respective fields..
2.We need to implement Credits system like which member earned more number of credits that can be redeemed to buy Digit Magazines...
3.We need to implement more themes & individual coloring system to each sub-section...
4.We also need the Bazaar Section improved like TE and Erodov forums do so that my Digit becomes No. 1 forum in India...

For example

It shows unrelevant threads at times and if there are more than 30 posts in a thread, it shows the thread instead of pointing at the exact post. (Default search is behaving like this)

Now that the forum has grown much more than what it was back in 2003, I find What's New returning many threads which I have no interest in. I'd love to have the selective forums functionality so that I see only those threads that interest me.

Mobile? Desktop?

Both. Sometimes the post take ages to appear in Tapatalk.
But on desktop for example, it takes tens of seconds to load the site. Just now when I got the notification from Taptalk about your post and I opened the site to reply.
The site opened in 2 seconds, but then this post took about 10 seconds to open.

Overall, looks like the server on which the new forum is hosted isn't responsive or the performance is sluggish due to load.

You need to delete that entry from tapatalk... unfollow it, and search for "the digit forum" and add that. It's a new entry.

Some of the problems that i have faced (specific to desktop)-
Forum doesnt load (generally its a partial load with some drop-downs missing)..
Avatars NEVER load..
Sometimes my account wont load (have to log in every time i try accessing Digit.in even though i check 'remember password' each time)
In the Dark Theme, the 'Whats New' column is missing..

Looking into the loading times. You need to clear cache once to get the cookies from old forum cleared. So try that. Dark theme is temporary and not supported. It's merely to save people's eyes from glare at night.

Part of the problem was DNS not updating fast across the world. At one point there were 2 IPs listed for forum.digit.in and it was trying the wrong one for 2/3 minutes before forwarding to the right one. Even after deleting the entry it stayed for a long time on some dns servers :-(

I get the pop-up notification, but it's not clickable. So I just get... 4 new quotes, or something, but nothing more after that.

Push notifications are supposed to be "clickable" or auto-hide after a certain interval which here is 10 secs (approx). Now 10 secs is too much, it should not have been more than 5 secs. Plus once I click on it, it should not come again if I visit same page. I'm using Chrome latest + Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

We only got TDF dark and Neo TDF.

Forum performance seems stable. Have tried it just about every hour of the day now.

Also in the Likes/Thanks received, imo it would be best if number of likes/thank sent to different users would be hidden & thereby only showing the ones received.

Quick Reply is doesn't show any format tools. Also every time I post I get a message that the reply is a duplicate of the post I posted 5 mins ago, and I see that post have been posted already. Reply function of a post is not working properly either. All in all entire thing which is relevant to me (posting) is not working properly.

Ability to extract twitter status and show on forum post

Not good. Also, I don't think vBulletin doesn't even allow this to be a user privilege. Only admins can do it afaik?

Also, everyone changing their names 2 times every month will be a pain to keep up. Hard to know who is who.

Ability to extract twitter status and show on forum post

Well, no. Would increase overhead in loading forum pages unnecessarily. I guess the current method is fine(pasting in your signature)

You need to delete that entry from tapatalk... unfollow it, and search for "the digit forum" and add that. It's a new entry.

Yes. Because the shoutbox is the first thing we see when we login and its constantly updated whenever someone creates a new thread, it is more current than the Today's Posts or New Posts page. Therefore, it would be more convenient for someone who thinks they can contribute to a thread to access it directly by clicking on it rather than browsing for that thread manually.

Indeed. I also switched back to 6.5 partly because of that bug and partly coz of the navigation bar. Theme is good and easy on eyes but I won't compensate screen area for that.

Have you tried removing all entries for digit and adding it freshly?

Ok. I wasn't sure about typing it at first.. Haha..
How to remove all these entries..
I tried deleting 2 chats of digit forum. But it appears again. I don't know why.
I can't even understand Tapatalk UI. It's like a maze. I can't explain it. You can find it by adding few forums to tapatalk.
Fortunately I have to keep track of this forum only, it displays feed notification "tab" below but displays only for "digit forum"

When a thread started posts a post, some kinda marking for that post would be good. Like different coloured/styled post, or something. If that's too much, a simple marking in the post's title or next to poster's id or something.

for me, digit doesn't load in tapatalk (win phone).
also, in IE(11), typing in the forum is very weird. skips letters. have to type very slow. even then have to press letters double times frequently. on editing a post too many-a-times it won't save in the first instance. copy-pasting links from say imgur too doesn't function.

yes, at office, as FF slows down the laptop. used to sometimes at home too, as i use multiple browsers with 'open with last active tabs' feature turned on, so for some quick viewing-posting on TDF & other fora which i dont require to be open for later use, i at times use IE instead of straining the other browsers with more which are reeling under the load of a 100 or so open tabs already. :p

I faced the same situation. But then I heard I just needed to raise a ticket to get the Chrome installed, citing some random business case (like I need to open this website which don't render on IE, something). And then I got rid of IE for good. Although some company things still run on IE. So can't get rid of it completely.

In Firefox, which I use at home, I too use restore open tabs feature. But not all tabs loads at the same time. It loads whenever I select the tab. Maybe its some setting which you need to enable.

correct (except in chrome i believe). but once we open forum-pages, it leads to a chain of opening up several other pages too which many-a-times remained unclosed while exiting the browser if unmindful. actually i keep tabs opened coz i save many-a-pages for later reference, and they keep getting piled up as i defer the job of saving. so i decided to strike at the root & changed the browser itself to browse forums, lol. but finding edge also being not-so-good, i am back to reusing other browsers for forums too at home. however at office its usually different. now am using FF to write this in office, but will close and go back to IE as am finished. so FF is used-and-closed, used-and-closed for just TDF alone here. :D

anyway i guess there does exist this issue with TDF on IE that persists. atleast an issue/bug for the sake of being one.

True. They are usually somewhat long sentences but one word towards the end would be hyperlinked to their website/whatever. Rater difficult to spam 100's of these in daily basis for mod imo.
dashing.sujay

See, 9 out of 10 times, a link in the first post is usually is spam but that still doesn't mean one should delete all the new posts having links. At least the mod has to verify if the user is really a spammer or not. Sometimes, the spam starts after moderation period ends. Being said that, no system is fool proof but 99% spam can definitely be controlled.

I want the Reputation system & Rating system to be implemented or improved.

If any particular member is active in any particular section or has reached a certain number of posts, then he should be given a certain Rep + Ratings accordingly.

I pray to all the MODS and the super MOD to implement such a system.

It could encourage such a member or new members to try to attain such a status.

Also contests and free game giveaways should be held periodically so that more members will join our community.

Please move the timestamp of a post, to the top-right instead of having it in bottom-left. It's almost non visible.

Thank you Raaabo for the smilies.

One thing, I'm not able to send a private message, I think it's called starting a conversation in Xenforo. Is the the case with everyone?
