There are times on Indian tech forums that people from Asus, Gigabyte, Zotac, MSI, etc. visit forums to keep a track on the records. Everytime Rashi was questioned, Rashi's head decides to ignore it, claiming that its an isolated incident an its only a small population that is going through such hassles (viz. normal in any case).

So to keep a record of good/bad experiences with Rashi's RMA (xfx, asus and altec lansing is under Rashi's RMA AFAIK), this thread will be compiled here with the complaints/experiences in the following format:

Rashi RMA number/ RMA challan number+ name of the shop and location:
Date of purchase:
Date of RMA:
City:
The incident in chronological manner:

As long as its maintained in such manner (and not used as the usual rashi bashing thread without the necessary details) and once enough complaints are collected, facts will be facts and rest of the decision is upto them.

According to their portfolio, Rashi peripherals handle the following companies:
ADATA, AMD, ALTEC LANSING, APC, ASUS, COMPEX, ECS, FUJITSU, HP, HP NETWORKING, LEADTEK, LENOVO, LOGITECH, NETGEAR, NEXANS, PIXELVIEW, PLANTRONICS, SANDISK, SONY,TARGUS, TOSHIBA, XFX and ECS.

I don't have any RMA number since I bought my hardware from a retailer called SYS-Comp which is affiliated with Rashi. SO any time I had to avail warranty I just give the hardware to the retailer and they manage the rest. I haven't had any problems with RMA though. Got my XFX6600 replaced in early 2008 and Seagate 500GB harddisk replaced this MAY2010.

Rashi RMA number: 19430

Date of purchase: 4th Sep 2008

Date of RMA: 28th Sep 2010

City: Rashi peripherals ( Kolkata Branch ) :

Rashi Peripherals Pvt.Ltd.
19, R.N. Mukherjee Road,
Eastern Building, Ground Floor,
Kolkata-700 001.
Tel No.:+91 - (033) 40011604/5/6
Fax No.:40011608

The incident in chronological manner:

Rashi peripherals is offering 3 years Replacement Warranty on every XFX graphic cards. Here's the Link to their official Warranty Document :

Warranty / RCC Locations

I've bought a XFX 8600GT 256MB GDDR3 graphic card on Sepetember 2008 with all the pocket money I've saved from Savera Marketing which is known as a outlet of Rashi Peripherals.

28th September 2010 - - - There was no display coming out of the graphic card so I sent it for RMA.

After verifying and testing the card throughly their service engineer told me that the card is bad and I will get a replacement for the card and Rashi peripherals accepted it for RMA. They told me to inquire after one week.

On the RMA paper it's clearly printed the condition is bad and no display and the warranty period is 1095 days.

5th October 2010 - - - I called them and they told me to go there.

6th October - So I went to Rashi peripherals and the guy ( Shambhu Das ) at the counter took the RMA paper from me and went inside. After a little while he came back with only the RMA paper and gave me the paper.

Now when I looked at the RMA paper I noticed something new in it. There was word a "fungus" written with pen on the upper right corner under the remark field on the paper. The word was not there when I've received the RMA paper on 28th september.

I asked Shambhu Das what's this ( pointing to the word "fungus" written on the RMA paper ) and what happened to my card ?

He told me that their service engineer has found fungus on my graphic card. He also told they will not repair or replace the card as it's a physical damage.

I was taken aback by hearing this.

I told him that there was no physical damage and fungus on the graphic card when I handed it over to them and they have accepted the card for RMA after physically verifying and testing it. So if now they claim they have found fungus it's their fault.

I've tried talking to their higher authorities in the office ( Manas Biswas - Service center chief of Kolkata Branch ) but they told me talk with the guy at the service counter.

So after some heated argument they told me that they will send the card to XFX and get a replacement and told me to inquire after 2-3 weeks.

25th October 2010 - - - I've called them and they said me as they have found fungus on the card they will not repair or replace it and I should take my card back.

I told him that there was no fungus on my graphics card and fungus can not be produced on graphic card which is used daily and it's their fault not mine and you guys have said me that I will get a replacement for the card. Either I want my money back or give me a card as replacement.

Now suddenly he started to act very rudely and told me to take my card back in 3 days and they will do nothing about this card further and just hanged the phone call.

So it's looks like I'm just being cheated by Rashi Peripherals.

Update as on 3rd - Nov. - 2010 :

On 29th Oct 2010 - Sent a mail to rashi central support center & I got this reply from Rashi :

Dear sir
We will check with Branch & update to you

It was by someone named rajkumar and they CCed the mail to the Kolkata branch.

But as of today 3rd Nov 2010 I have got not any reply on the update status.

Update as on 14th - Nov. - 2010 :

On 3rd Nov 2010 I've sent a mail to :

rajkumar.rajak@rptechindia.com
Cc: asusrma@rptechindia.com
manas.biswas@rptechindia.com
rmakolkata@rptechindia.com

but did not get any reply :

On 4th Nov 2010 I've sent amil to :

rajkumar.rajak@rptechindia.com
asusrma@rptechindia.com

but go no reply as usual.

On 8th Nov 2010 mailed to :

RAJKUMAR <rajkumar.rajak@rptechindia.com>
Cc: asusrma@rptechindia.com

but got no reply

on 11th Nov 2010 I've called RPtech Kolkata branch and a guy named Sambhu Das is againb making false claim about "Fungus" and I've sent another mail to :

ashokg@rptechindia.com

but got no reply - So I've tried contacting with all higher officials of Rashi Peripherals but they are just ignoring me and my valid RMA claim.

The card is still in Rashi Kolkata Service center.

My last mail to them was this :

Dear sir,

More than a week has passed since I got a reply and still I have not
got any news on the update status.

I've sent you 3 more mails on 3rd and 4th and 8th November regarding
the update status of this issue and as usual I've got no reply.

So how long it will really take to resolve this issue ? This is
wasting my valuable time and harming my works.

I'm just getting frustrated, irritated and angry by the attitude of
your service center people at kolkata.

I'm a moderator of Digit forum and currently we are discussing the whole issue at here :

Rashi ( Kolkata ) has accepted it after physical verification and
testing it on their pc and after one week Rashi ( Kolkata ) is
claiming that they have found fungus in it. The service center guy ie
Sambhu just took a pen and wrote the word fungus on the printed RMA
paper without my acknowledgement and just told me to take the card
back.I won't just accept what he wrote with a pen of the RMA paper
without my acknowledgement.

He said they just don't provide warranty for fungus and I will not get
any kind of replacement. !!

About the claims of your Service enter guy ie Sambhu at Kolkata I've
really some points to make it clear that his claim is simply baseless
and totally deceiving :

Fungus forms on food items and damp/sweaty clothes which have not been
washed for ages and kept in a damp condition. A computer peripheral is
subjected to heat and 8600GT heats up enough. So theres no way there
was any fungus on my 8600GT graphic card.

Moreover how the heck can fungus be physical damage. Physical damage
is said to have occurred if there is a crack on the pcb. A part of the
pcb being chipped off. Missing smd(surface mount device, like
resistor, capacitor, IC etc), scratches on any part of the card, signs
of tampering like worn out screws, tracks on pcb being cut and burn
marks on the pcb.

I just hope they ( Rashi Kolkata guys ) don't physically damage it
themselves and say "look its physically damaged and we cannot provide
the warranty".

There was absolutely no physical damage with my graphic card ( 8600GT
) when I gave it back to them....I can 100% guarantee that......Rashi
( Kolkata ) has found a really nice loophole to excuse them from
providing their so called "warranty" by simply putting the blame on
the customer and saying there has been "fungus" or something like
that.

The warranty period of 1095 days ie 3 years and the cards condition is
clearly printed on the RMA paper. Here I'm sending the RMA paper as
attachment.

The graphic Card XFX 8600GT is still in your Kolkata Service center
and the RMA No. : 19430

I hope you would take some proper action to resolve the issue as
quickly as possible.

What's the E-Mail addresses of the XFX, Rashi guys?
If this thread has enough replies, and links pointing to Rashi guys cheating people's RMA, then we can E-Mail that DIRECTLY to XFX, Asus, or whichever company concerned, against Rashi.
If a lot of TDF members (along with any other tech forum members) mass E-Mail them forwarding these complaints, the persuasive mass effect would definitely bring notice.
Twitter and other social networking tools can also be used to gain momentum, if XFX or Rashi have a twitter account, you can post the link @ them, and people can retweet that.
Small steps I know but they might well work.

^^ Mass emailing wont work. I've explained the necessary details to asingh so he'll let you know what you have to know and what needs to be done.

But if people are not going to put up genuine complaints with necessary details here but whine/bash rashi in other people's threads/forums then there's no hope of any progress.

I've brought XFX 8600 Gt in 2008 before Durga puja.I am very excited about the new card because earlier card i.e. Zebronics 7200GS can'trun every game smoothly even in 1024*800 resolution so i decided to buy that card.

15/08/2010-Computer generates alarm like sound and the computer suddenly switch off itself. After further inspecting i found that the gf cards fan is not working. Now i have to manually spin the fan every time i switch on the computer.

17/08/10-I've submitted the card for rma my 8600 gt card at RAshi Peripheral

25/08/10
-After calling them they saying the card is alright its running perfectly they even said they test the card using 3D mark software and the test is passed.

05/10/10-I have given a bad feedback in www.rptechindia.com.

06/10/10-They reply me by following email-From: Shambhu Das [mailto:shambhu.das@rptechindia.com]

Rashi (kolkata)

Finally-After going many times to rashi for the card i have lost my hope and running the card by just manually spinning the fan.And no game can be played because after running game like Fifa 10 or Blur for about 20 minutes the card can't generate smooth graphics. And temperature goes 90*C even the fan is working

I had submitted my faulty HD 5770 to them at 18-10. After than I called them several times and they were keep saying this card is out of stock and once available they r gonna replace it. It was confirmed that the card was faulty n I'm gonna get a new one. last week Wednesday they confirmed about the new card. I sent a friend to collect it. Once I've reached Kolkata on 20th, i found out that it is the same card, I have given to them. I rushed to rashi on Monday morning @ 12. After a lot of fight, they asked me to come after 5 when they would test the card with games.
I went to Vedant and have told them about the incident. They instantly called a guy named Vikash, who was present at that time and asked me to explain everything to him. He is a big-shot in Rashi.
He called someone and has redirected me to a guy called Sambhu. I again went to Rashi but the guys didn't do anything until 6:30. There was a superior named Manas who I think is the main culprit. When I told them that they informed me in phone that my card has been replaced, he told me that I was lying and they did not find any defect and all the games were running perfectly. This guy is a genuine *******.
However their so called engineers nothing other than idiots, they don't have driver for ATi cards and tried to install Nvidia driver.
After I told them what to do, they downloaded Catalyst 10.4, net framework 2.0 and install Delta force 2. I was terrified by their choice of games. But when they started the game, instantly the system gets hanged. Now it was 7:30. I started to shout and some big guys who were relatively good came out. I told them everything. Now Manas changed his tone and said leave the card over there and they would replace it. I simply said I can't wait for another 1 month and needed the money back. After a long fight I have won and they gave me credit note of 8.3K for Vedant. It is now 8:30 and I've won the battle.
Next day I went to Vedant and bought XFX HD 6870 @ 14.9K+Vat.

6870 from none of the other brands are available right now in Kolkata. And another thing is most of the problematic cards from XFX are actually Custom PCB designed cards. They probably provide bad design with low quality materials.
But HD 6870 can only have reference model specified by ATI/AMD. So I think XFX can't do much harm over here.

^^ they will say that you've made it yourself with special effects - just go there - submit your gfx card again and if this time they try to say that the card is working properly tell them to test it in front of you and do as what Cilus has did.

As in my case they are even unwilling to test it for "fungus" reason and don't want to keep the card- so "as of now" I can't do what cilus did.

Rashi RMA number/ RMA challan number+ name of the shop and location: Prime ABGB (lamington road, Mumbai) RMA challan #2035.
Date of RMA: 1st November, 2010
City: Mumbai
The incident in chronological manner:

1st november, 2010: Asus xonar DX was given for replacement to Prime via their service centre as there was static coming when using the card. It was confirmed from my end that was not an OS/driver/motherboard slot/speaker or earphone issue from my end. Prime verified that there was no physical damage and therefore taken the card.
11th november, 2010: I, Aces170 and Xterminator of techenclave forums were in Prime's office. Spoke to Gulbir about the replacement and says "Asus' replacement for xonar? That is a challenge"
2nd December, 2010: Called them up and was being told that they shifted somewhere in lamington Road to a bigger office, however guys at prime told me that Rashi says xonar DX is "out of stock", hinting that it would most likely be a complete replacement (unless its pure B.S.)

Within this period of time, I did RMA my 250gigs AAJS WD drive through Prime ABGB and the day before making this call, I got the replacement of a 320gigs AAJS blue drive via courier.

Update-
30th November2010 (1 pm) -I have submitted my XFX 8600 GT 2nd times to Rashi Peripheral. I force Mr.Sambhu Das to check in front of me that the card’s fan is not working properly. He said wait about half an hour.
1.40 Pm-Service engineer check the card in front of me and found the problem.
2.20Pm-Sambhu Das receive the faulty product and told me that you will get your product after 1 week.

03.12.10-Around 10.30AM I called Rashi to get the status of the card.Sambhu Das said your card has come. I thought wow finally I won the game but…….
12.30 PM-They gave me an old XFX 8600Gt 256 MB ddr3.I asked Sambhu Das why you are giving me an old card.He said this card is from our buffer stock.
3.30Pm-I plugged the card in my pc..Installed 3D mark 06 to check the performance of the card but the frames are not smooth enough. I also checked the card performance in Mafia 2 Game but the result is not good enough. I was sure that the Sambhu has given me an faulty card.
4 PM-Called Rashi again and told the problem about not getting smooth frames rate. Sambhu said please come I will give you a brand new card.
I copied 3D mark 06 in my pen drive to show evidence of my problem.
5.30PM-I gave the challan and Sambhu asked an service man to check if the display is coming out or not) I stopped him and said “it is not about display problem and I told the earlier problems” .He said Ok and he gave me a Brand new Boxed packed XFX 8600 GT 256 DDR3 card.
7.30 PM-I plugged the GFX card and finally card is working properly.

After visiting numerous times I got this result so friends I finally won the game from the Rashi.

Here’s the XFX 8600 Gt Benchmark -

Now here's mine :

Yesterday went into Rashi @ 11 AM with my elder bro to take my card back. As usually the Sambhu guy returned my card back saying it has fungus and I said to him now face to face with more loud and clear voice how the hell fungus can be grown on gfx card which was used daily for 4-6 hour atleast. Now he gave me all sort of crappy reason.

I took the card back and went into the shop ( with my elder bro ) from which I bought it. First they refused and said they can't do anything but I told them fungus can't be produced on a gfx card and according to Rashi service policy there's no mention of warranty will be invalid for fungus and explained everything to them. Now they called up Sambhu and told me to talk with him over phone. So I staterd talikng with him over phone with a strong voice.

Now Sambhu again telling me all sorts of those fungus ( and said it's physical damage ) craps and he said he has written fungus clearly on RMA paper

I said he first accepted it and if fungus is any sort of physical damage how the hell they approved it for RMA. and there's no mention of "fungus" in Rashi service policy on website.

He said that I should seek warranty from XFX and but not from Rashi but I said according to XFX - warranty is the responsibility of reseller and In this case rashi is the reseller and Rashio clearly mentioned about 3 years replacement warranty on all xfx gfx card on their website and on the box of gfx card and on the RMA paper.

Now again Sambhu tried to give me those "fungus" craps but now I said he accepted it for RMA first, wrote fungus on the RMA paper after one week without my acknowledgement and have not even showed me where there service engineer saw fungus so how come I can believe that they have not done anything wrong with the card in their service center and it's obvious that he is lying and I don't trust his claims about "fungus"

Now he said that he has no personal issue with me and why I'm not not trying to understand.

I told him that of course I have no personal issue with him but it's just because of him and his ill fungus reason my warranty is being denied and I just want my proper rights as a consumer.

Now he said me to come to their service center and he will check the card again infront of me.

So I went to the service center, waited one more hour and around 2 PM Sambhu told me to submit the card and they will test it.

At 2.35 PM their service engineer began testing it when he pointed at the dust and before he said anything I stopped him and with a angry voice I said stop lying and not to give those crap reasons again - It's just dust and how come he is so illiterate that he can't even recognize dust.

Now he told Sambhu that the card need to be repaired and I said I will not tolerate such nonsense things anymore and I want my card to be replaced. Now Sambhu told me to come the next day.

I told him everything has it's limits and I have reached the last point of my tolerance. More than 2 months has passed since they are cheating with me and wasting my time and if he want to do anything do it here and now.

Now he told me to wait for 30 mins and at 3.20 PM gave me a new box packed 8600 GT.

Then what is the choice instead of RASHI who has taken the distributorship of so many products?

Thanks .. I will try to stay clear from products distributed by Rashi but as avichandana20000 said is it really always possible for every one.

Take the example of cilus - he wanted a HD6870 but I guess you know it really well how hard it's hard to find a good product/ High end product form different brands in Kolkata - So even after having warranty issue he have to settle for gfx card from same manufacturer.

I think it's the duty of manufacturer who should look at Rashi's service and make the decision because they have some major responsibility about warranty and customer satisfaction as along with distributors.

Thanks TopGear for the whole log of proceedings and transaction details with Rashi RMA service.

Thanks asingh.

Update 16-12-2010: Prime says Rashi doesn't have stock of xonar DX.

Lol @ Prime: For a card that I paid for about 4k they are willing to give me a credit note for 2.8k
LOL @ Rashi, Mumbai: It taken 1 1/2 month approx for them to figure it out that they didn't have any stocks. Sucks. Asus/xfx/altec lansing's name is getting damaged big time thanks to such antics.

Re: Rashi Peripheral Cheating with XFX Graphic Card Warranty - ReSolved

^^ Can you just post the issue over here with all the necessary details so it can get more attention and we can use this thread like somekind of public petition later :

Digit has a section called consumer watch on tha mag and I've tried contacting digit and consumerwatch.com ( sent mail to both on 28th Oct 2010 ) but I have not got any reply.

I will try contacting them again.

No this won't work. I've written all these in last two mails I had sent to Rashi but Rashi is not replying. So it's clear they don't care much about TDF!

Don't get me wrong - going to consumer court is a option to get justice but there are several drawbacks in it and the process is very time consuming - I've a little bit experience in this as well.

I'm not being humble with them anyway and if you do a lot of shouting they will tell you to come after 5 PM and what will they do - nothing but some plain bullshit.

So it's better to spread issues like this as much as you can - a strong public opinion and some publishing on mass media will really prevail some sense into them.

Yep, I remeber that and you can see the link in my siggy.

I've tried contacting digit but got no reply- will try again.

You've done the right thing to post this on another forum - keep spreading it as much as you can - It will create a strong public opinion and will aware future customers.

that's so kind of you.

I've posted on Rashi RMA Experience thread and suggested amartya87 to do so - will ask more members do the same.

BTW, updated the status on Rashi RMA Experience thread.

Hi Friends! the following trail of emails are self explanatory to prove that I am filing a consumer complaint in the court against Mr. Suresh Pansari, MD, Rashi Peripherals, Mumbai.

Rajkumar jeee!
You are not only acting over 'smaaart', but also 'laacks' basic commonsense. Do not ever underestimate your customers. The first para of your mail was OK though neither correct nor acceptable, but then in the second para you have shown your actual caliber.
Your system has all the record of each time this card was submitted for repair and was replaced. I took your previous mail lightly wherein you had mentioned that you have shown a "gesture" in replacing the card. WHAT GESTURE? Your company marketed the product with 3 years warranty. You further went to the extent of writing me that I should approach the seller for the warranty support as you are not sure of his purchase source. How & why did you entertain the warranty complaints thrice in the past? No seller ever provide the warranty support for "distributors" items - imported into India thru proper channel - like yours.
You seems to be a child to see the things in black or in white: with an end or with a beginning. Are you not aware of the fact that your own company keeps computerized record of all RMAs? Are you not aware that a computerized slip is issued to the customer wherein the Serial No. of the defective item and the serial No. of the item given as replacement is mentioned? If you are really not aware of it then what are you doing in RMA section? Honestly people like you are liability on company. Your asking me to furnish the original invoice and serial No. of the original card purchased and the photo copy of the box with your sticker of import at this stage, is nothing but your dilatory tactics to delay & defeat my legitimate right to three years warranty support. This statement of your shows non application of mind; not only your malice but also your frustration. It's not your fault. After all you will only act as per your IQ. You slept over my RMA for 15 days till I called you up on STD and wasted 10 minutes in explaining you the things. Neither you nor your immediate boss, Ashok Goenka, had any courtesy to say sorry for the extraordinary delay. He showed no courtesy to reply to my mail. He had very rudely and most arrogantly told me over phone that he had not invited me to buy his product. And now you are following his footsteps to delay & defeat the purpose by asking me the things which were already furnished to your company, much before the said card was submitted for repair/replacement at your New Delhi office in Aug.'10
Whatever you have asked for had been already provided to your company, otherwise you people wouldn't have replaced the card in Aug.'10. I have documentary evidence of having provided all this in the past, which will be produced in the Consumer court.

Please do not bother me by your stupid mails, which are causing more damage to your own company than doing any good.

May almighty bless you & some of your colleagues a wisdom and strength to use the most beautiful and extraordinary thing Almighty has provided to every human being - The brain!
With best wishes for Merry Christmas & a Happy New year!
Sqn. Ldr. Raman Jhanjee (Retd)
A.M,S.M.Ae.E
PS
Rajkumar jee, now a brotherly advise! have you ever realised that for the company you have taken an offensive form of defense - instead of tendering your unconditional & unqualified apologies at the outset for the extraordinary delay resulting in inconvenience to the customer, tomorrow when this case will be filed in the Consumer Court at New Delhi and your company has to hire an advocate to defend itself by paying reasonable amount of fees say Rs. 5000/- a bare minimum, and when the learned Court will pass any adverse orders - WHICH IT WILL, then who will be the first person to get the 'boot'? YOU! Mr. Rajkumar. All your loyalty; your sincerity will be washed off in no time. For 45 days my card had been with you people and thats on record! Put yourself in customer's shoes and then realize. If I were you, I would have straight away said sorry for the delay on all the three occasions; extended the warranty may be by 2 months if not for 3 months; and assured the customer of giving him exact the same model or superior model. Remember! if things goes in your Company's favor you will not get any appreciation letter, forget about getting an increment, BUT if things go otherwise nobody's going to blame Ashok Goenka. All the guns will point at you. Please, please do not write anything which is illogical and makes no sense. Its only a matter of a week when courts re-open after Christmas vacations - you have enough time to do your home work. God bless you & God bless 'Pansaris'.

Dear Sir,
As per specs with us both cards are same. There may be some kind of printing mistake on the website. You may check this from XFX and their mail id is rma@pinegroup.com
We don’t have any YDD4 model in the stock else we would have certainly issued you the card without any issues since both cards are same for us.
May we request you to provide us:
1) Serial no of the original card that was purchased from Mumbai online.
2) Invoice copy of the same.
3) If possible photo of the box showing model/serial no sticker as well as our import details.
Based on the above we will certainly coordinate with your point of purchase as well as with XFX and come out with a suitable solution.

Hope to hear from you at the earliest.

Subject: Re: LEGAL NOTICE UNDER CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT 1986

Dear Mr. Rajkumar,
This card is your sold product. OK! I am holding the original carton of the card having sticker of Rashi Peripherals Pvt. Ltd as its importer. This fact was even mentioned to all the senior officials of your company when this card was to be given for repair 2nd time at your new Delhi office because some stupid official had raised the question of my having bought it from "America". The scan copy of the box showing your sticker was also sent to you people. Now saying that its not your sold product will go more against you. You had not replaced this card - thrice out of charity. Do you understand1 So please do not write anything which erodes all chances of any amicable settlement.

Secondly, as per the specification on XFX site -" *xfxforce.com/en-us/products/graphiccards/9series/9800gt.aspx?lang=en-us"; you can see the details specs of these two cards. I am also attaching the screen shot of the comparison table of these two varients i.e PV-T98G-YDD4 which was handed over to your new Delhi office on 28/10/10 and the PV-T98G-YDDF given to me on 16/11/10 as a replacement.
The major difference is not only the higher wattage of power supply required by the later but also:-
1. Texture fill rate (Billion/sec) for PV-T98G-YDDF is only Billion/sec as against 37.62 Billion/sec of PV-T98G-YDD4
2.Pixel per clock (peak) for PV-T98G-YDDF os '0' pixel as against '56' pixel of PV-T98G-YDD4
3. The minimum power requirement (Watts) for YDDF is 500 watts as against 450 watts for YDD4

These data are from XFX website as mentioned above.

You had refused to accept the card for repair the very first time and therefore is was sent to the seller at Mumbai who got it repaired/replaced and sent it back. Your highhandedness did not end there, When I forced you people to accept the card for repair at New Delhi itself on second occasion, you took 10 days. On third occasion you made me to call your Vasai office on STD and talk to you people for full 10 minutes ( I have MTNL bill for Nov.10 which has details of this STD call made on 0250-324601 - on 9/11/10) requesting you to send the card. Beside this I soke to Ms. Sandra on 022-67090909 on 9/11/10 for 8 min. for this card.

After receiving the card on 16th Nov when I made a complaint to your Mr. Ashok Goenka, he showed no courtesy to regret the extra ordinary delay and passed the buck to New Delhi office and sent the copy of that mail to me.

Prima facie this is a fit case to be filed in Consumer Court. I will not hesitate to attach all such harassments of the customers of Rashi Peripherals Pvt. Ltd. as posted by such aggrieved customers on the INTERNET.

I once again call on you to immediately replace my PV-T98G-YDDF card with PV-T98G-YDD4 card without further delay and for all the harassment, as a compensation extend the warranty by another 3 months.

Dear Sir,

Just to inform this card is not our sold product. Still as a point of gesture, we replaced it. If you check your original card and replaced card are exactly same. As per model no, difference in last digit just confirms that packing box of both cards are different.
We will suggest to get the replacement further from point of purchase as he can support on this case further based on his purchase details.

As per the specification, both PV-T98G-YDD4 & PV-T98G-YDDF are same and only difference is in the packing.

LEGAL NOTICE UNDER CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT 1986

Dear Mr. Pansari,
I had bought a XFX Nvidia 9800GT graphic card online from a dealer at Mumbai, with 3 years warranty.
This graphic card had been thrice replaced by your company – once when your New Delhi office refused to entertain the complaint, it had to be sent back to the dealer at Mumbai who got the same replaced and sent it back with your computerized replacement slip. Second time your official accepted the faulty card with great reluctance and gave the replacement after about 10 days. This card again went faulty and was submitted with your service center at New Delhi vide I/W Ch. # 3637 dated 28/10/10.

Your Vasai office took 15 days to give a replacement to your New Delhi office and that too after that the undersigned called up your Vasai office on STD. and spoke to your Mr. Raj for early replacement/repair. and later intentionally and with malafide sent me a different version of the XFX Nvidia 9800GT graphic card requiring 500 watts of power supply as against the one which required only 450 watts of power supply. Not only that when undersigned raised the issue of the delay and wrong replacement thru email, Mr. Ashok Goenka showed no courtesy to regret the delay and or the inconvenience caused to me due to wrong replacement. I had very specifically wrote him that I have Cool master 460 watts PSU in my computer and as such the graphic card sent by him requiring 500 watts of supply is not performing and due to inadequate PSU the display disappears intermittently. After getting the different version of the same model of the graphic card in question when I called up Mr. Ashok Goenka at his Vasai office Mr. Ashok Goenka went to the extent to tell me that he had not invited me to buy the said graphic card from his company.

I therefore call upon you to replace the graphic card ( PV-T98G-YDDF), sent by you with exact version of XFX Nvidia Geforce 9800GT that is PV-T98G-YDD4 which was submitted for repair at your service center at New Delhi, within 72 hours of the receipt of this mail and also increase the warranty by another 3 months as a compensation failing which I would be constrained to file a legal suit for the damages in the consumer court at New Delhi totally at your cost, risk & peril.
Yours Sincerely,

New Delhi Sqn. Ldr. Raman Jhanjee (Retd)
22Dec.’10 New Delhi - 110018

This Mr. Rajkumar is incharge of Rashi's RMA section at Vasai, Mumbai and is working under Mr. Ashok Goenka who is Service support head and also sits at Vasai office. Just imagine Mr. Rajkumar writing to me that card is not sold by them and as a gesture (Of goodwill) they had replaced it at an earlier occassion.

I would very humbly request my younger generation, which is more intelligent & practica,l to minutely go thru the whole trail of emails and then decide about this "RASHI PERIPHERALS". No company can ever go to the extent, adopting cheap tactics, by asking its customers to approach the seller. Coz I have told them that the card was bought 'online'. I have collected enough evidence in form of customers woes published on the net against this Rashi Peripherals.
At one place I was reading that this company is not bad but its only the employees. And I fully agree with it.
I have edited my email ID but anyone can contact me thru PM for any legal help & advise in consumer matters.

Pl remember! all your purchases - even made 'online', are governed by Consumer Protection Act 1986 and you dont have to file a consumer complaint in the seller's city but you can in your own city. You do not need to hire any advocate; pay just Rs. 100 as court fee; speak/plead your case in your own local language as the Judges of the Consumer court are retd. Judges - sometimes retd. Govt. officers. Therefore pleading case in Consumer court is similar to going to any company & explaining your problem about the product and requesting for repair/replacement. Never forget to ask for damages towards the inconvenience caused to you due to indefferent attitude of the company resulting in filing the Consumer Complaint.

Re: Rashi Peripheral Cheating with XFX Graphic Card Warranty - ReSolved

Ownage! About time someone stood upto these scoundrels for harassing customers.

FYI: Consumer Courts do *NOT* delay justice *NEITHER* are expensive towards the petitioner. You're charged Re. 1/- & can fight your own case. The company is liable to appear to the hearing else is fined along with a charge for "contempt of court".

Did you really went to Court ?

If so, kindly pls let us know the outcome.

Have you received the the Card you wanted from them ?

To Bring to Light Some of the FACTS guys !! Just Read Below.

First : You cannot send any LEGAL NOTICE to anyone like you have done.

Second : If you geniuenly have any intentions of giving LEGAL NOTICE to someone, you need to hire an Advocate to do so.

Third : All LEGAL NOTICE can be served by an Advocate in his OWN letterhead only.

Fourth : As in your case RASHI people did replace your card with a different model. It is always not possible to replace the same model of product by any company. (suppose if the original card which you had is now not manufactured by the company anymore but your card is still under warranty then they have the right to give you any NEW product similar in nature and workmanship to you. ) This is legally correct.

Fifth : The company has the full right to ask you to submit the Original Copy of the Invoice and other documents for varification.

Sixth : To avoid them from asking for documents again and again, you must submit your documents and ask them to verify that they have received such documents from you at the time of submission itself.

Seventh : However, you can still go to Consumer Court if there was unexpected delay in providing you the NEW card. (Only if they have a policy which says that they will repair/replace the product in such time period, which most companies never have such a policy by the way!!)

Beside Computer hardware & Peripherals, theirs so much in the world to learn. And to enlighten your knowledge base I'm submitting the reply para wise.

Some people are just a child to see the things in black or in white; with an end or with a beginning!

Your facts are distorted and misleading; far from truth.

Article 14 of the Indian constitution allows right of equality. All courts in India, including Honorable Supreme Court of India allows every citizen to plead his/her case 'in person' without any assistant from any lawyer. No court can ever stop you from pleading your case yourself because if you talk nonsense then case will go against you; and if you are disrespectful, arrogant and/or rude you'll be charge under contempt. Therefore you can not only plead (fight) your own case; you can also serve legal notice to the other party. As it is mandatory before filing a legal suit that you should give notice to other party. Since you write your intentions of taking legal recourse against him, it becomes legal notice - whether particular sections are mentioned in it or not.
Now when a person can plead his case himself then why cant he serve legal notice himself?
You can serve notice to anyone when cause of action is made out.
Can you show me C.P.C (code of civil procedure) where it is mentioned that you cant serve notice yourself or that it has to be written on a letterhead of advocate.
C.P.C governs everything about civil cases like Cr.P.C (criminal Procedure code) governs the criminal cases.
You do not need any advocate only if you can express yourself logically in the court and conduct yourself in a decent way.
I wish I could paste here the notice and its reply received from Mr. Rajkumar of Rashi, Vasai.

When documents like invoice are submitted at the time of giving the item for repair/replacement to the official accepting the item and the item is repaired/replaced then if second or the third time the invoice is again called for then it prima facie amounts to dilatory tactics on the part iof the company. You understand? (All records are available in their computers).
Secondly the company can replace the item, if it cannot carry out the repairs, But then replacement cannot be with old or inferuior model. The company is bound to provide you either the same model or the higher model. In my case the card was replaced by inferior model. There are so many instances where WD & Samsung provided 320GB HDD in place of 160GB to its customers.

Company has no right to ask for any document when a dispute has been raised about the repair/replacement. it proves their malafide. They are suppose to check the doct at the time of accepting the RMA. They cannot even claim that the item was later found to be burnt/damage. Once the item has been physically handed over to them in PERSON and RMA slip issued then company cannot claim at a later stage that item was broken/damage/mishandled. What were they doing when they accepted it. If papers were not in order why did they accept it.

When any person can fight his own case even in Honorable Supreme court of India, then realise that Consumer courts are made for customers to plead their cases themselves - that too in local language. When you write a final letter to defaulting company and tell them you'll be going to court it becomes legal notice whether you mention Sec. 12, 17 & 21 of Consumer protection Act of 1986 or not, it's a legal notice. Since the courts are over burden with litigation that they ask you. 'did you serve notice'. They never say notice by advocate.
Last not the least, it seems that instead of helping the members of this August Forum with legal knowledge you are trying to scare them. NO COMPANY HAS A POLICY OF CARRYING OUT REPAIR/REPLACEMENT BY PARTICULAR TIME SCHEDULE. However its always a reasonable time period which should not exceed 7 days. No body keeps 'stand by' parts to run their computers. Why do the Battery manufactures (Car or inverter) provide you with a service battery? why dont they ask you to use your Bike; or light a candle at home till they change your battery!!

Once again I would request my brother members not to pay any heed to the statement of "Tech&ME". It seems that the learned 'member' is pleading for the defaulting companies and not for the brother- members. Never take lying low. Its your hard earned money. You all should be proud of Indian judiciary. Though corrupt people are everywhere and its our politicians which makes some of the public servants corrupt but still our judicial officers are more honest and upright than any of their counterpart all over the world.
I dont know whats the date of hearing in consumer court for Rashi but I do know that 24th Feb is the date of hearing against Brother Printer service provider - Accel Frontline services for default in the support service. I will definitely keep the members posted about the developments.
Professional advocates/lawyers only help in citing the old decided cases in similar matter - known as 'case citation' for the judge to give the same ruling. But then its not always necessary to do so. The Retd. judges who preside over consumer courts are well aware of the tactics adopted by the companies. They are inclined to favour the customer provided he has come with the clean hands before the court. This mean that never hide anything from the court. place your facts at the first available opportunity.
I would definitely seek the permission of the Learned moderators to place the entire case file before this forum so that members are befitted .

Update 16-12-2010: Prime says Rashi doesn't have stock of xonar DX.

LOL @ Rashi, Mumbai:
For a card that I paid for about 4k they are willing to give me a credit note for 2.8k. It taken 1 1/2 month approx for them to figure it out that they didn't have any stocks. Sucks. Asus/xfx/altec lansing's name is getting damaged big time thanks to such antics.

20-02-11: Gets a call- Card is dispatched to Prime
25-02-11: Collects the card- its a brand new box packed (imported Feb 2011) sealed and fresh-from-the-oven Asus Xonar DX. Everyone can sense my sigh of relief.

I will stick to want I said earlier.

I think you are TOO intelligent but you are mistaken my friend.

1. Yes Article 14 says what you said but:

NO ONE CAN SEND A LEGAL NOTICE TO ANYONE HIMSELF/HERSELF.

Any such letter send by a common man to another person or company doesnot constitute to be a LEGAL notice, however it is considered as a plain NOTICE or expression of intention to move to court only. Hence, a common man cannot send a LEGAL NOTICE himself. Understood ?

2. Any letter of intention to move to court or Notice or LEGAL NOTICE served by a lawyer cannot be sent by e-mail. It should be sent " Under Certificate of Post" or by "Registered Mail".

3. In most cases e-mail is not admissible in a court of law unless it is backed by circumstantial evidence.

Read once again what I had said earlier, however I repeat:

1. Always submit the documents as asked or required and take or obtain a valid receipt for it.

2. In case, the company forgot to ask for a particular document or you refused to submit a particular document , (at the time of complain registration) then they (company) have the FULL right to request you to submit the same.

How can a company promise you that a particular repair/replacement will be done in a definite time period.

Repair may require availability of ready parts, etc and various other reasons.
NO COMPANY IN THIS WORLD WILL PROMISE YOU THIS. NOR THE LAW CAN FORCE ANY COMPANY TO PROMISE THIS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Think logically.

Yes, however, if their is too much delay in repair / replacement you can ask for compensation for the same which the Honour'able Court will decide over.

No body keeps 'stand by' parts to run their computers. Why do the Battery manufactures (Car or inverter) provide you with a service battery? why dont they ask you to use your Bike; or light a candle at home till they change your battery!!

Car manufacturer provide you with temporary battery out of gesture only. They do so to retain their customer and make goodwill only.

Car manufacturers are not bound by LAW to do so. understood.
(Batteries are covered under separate warranty in cars and bikes in India, and is not manufactured by Car Manufacturers themselves in most Indian cases.)

And regarding Computer, its your problem how you will keep your computer up and running and not their's. If any part fails to funtion.

For example : If suppose your DELL laptop harddisk fails, does DELL provide you with temporary laptop to keep you carry out your work.(untill DELL repairs/replaces your laptop harddisk) ===== Answer is NO

Now don't ask people to belive in you and forget other in this Forum.

Dear Friends,

I would like to request all the members to read this (below links)
before you decide to move to Consumer Forum.

Direct Links to Consumer Protection Act (1986)
Describes about your rights / actions you can take , etc

I am giving below some excerpt in simple ENGLISH for the forum members:

CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT 1986 ( “CPA”) IN INDIA

The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 was enacted for better protection of the interests of consumers. The provisions of the Act came into force with effect from 15-4-87. Consumer Protection Act imposes strict liability on a manufacturer, in case of supply of defective goods by him, and a service provider, in case of deficiency in rendering of its services. The term “defect” and “deficiency”, as held in a catena of cases, are to be couched in the widest horizon of there being any kind of fault, imperfection or shortcoming. Furthermore, the standard, which is required to be maintained, in services or goods is not to be restricted to the statutory mandate but shall extend to that claimed by the trader, expressly or impliedly, in any manner whatsoever.

The salient features of the Act are:

(I) it covers all the sectors whether private, public, and cooperative or any person. The provisions of the Act are compensatory as well as preventive and punitive in nature and the Act applies to all goods covered by sale of goods Act and services unless specifically exempted by the Central Government;

(II) It enshrines the following rights of consumers:

(a) right to be protected against the marketing of goods and services which are hazardous to life and property; (b) right to be informed about the quality, quantity, potency, purity, standard and price of goods or services so as to protect the consumers against unfair trade practices; (c) right to be assured, wherever possible, access to a variety of goods and services at competitive prices; (d) right to be heard and to be assured that consumers’ interests will receive due consideration at the appropriate fora; (e) right to seek redressal against unfair trade practices or unscrupulous exploitation of consumers; and (f) right to consumer education;

(III) The Act also envisages establishment of Consumer Protection Councils at the central, state and district levels, whose main objectives are to promote and protect the rights of consumers; (v) To provide a simple, speedy and inexpensive redressal of consumer grievances, the Act envisages a three-tier quasi-judicial machinery at the national, state and district levels. These are: National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission known as National Commission, State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions known as State Commissions and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum known as District Forum; and

(IV) the provisions of this Act are in addition to and not in derogation of the provisions of any other law for the time being in force.

Definition of ‘Defect’ and ‘consumer’

Under the CPA, Consumer Forums at the District, State and National level have been specifically constituted to adjudicate claims of consumers for any “defect” in goods. A “defect” has been defined in Section 2(1) (f) of the Act as “any fault, imperfection or shortcoming in the quality, quantity, potency, purity or standard which is required to maintained by or under any law for the time being in force or under any contract, express or implied, or as is claimed by the trader (which includes the manufacturer) in any manner whatsoever in relation to any goods.”

It is important to mention herein that by virtue of Section 2 (1)(d) persons/entities who had purchased goods for ‘commercial purpose’ (other than those persons who have purchased goods for using them to earn their livelihood by means of self employment) are excluded from the scope of CPA; they cannot institute proceedings under the CPA even if there is any ‘defect’ in the goods purchased by them for using the goods for commercial purposes.

Purview of a ‘complaint’

According to the CPA, ‘Complaint’ means any of the following allegations made in writing by a complainant-

i. any unfair trade practice or a restrictive trade practice has been adopted by a trader,

ii. the goods hired or bought suffer from one or more defects

iii. The goods hired or availed of are deficient in any respect

iv. A trader has charged price in excess of price fixed by law or displayed on the goods or any package containing goods

v. Goods which will be hazardous to life and safety when used, are being offered for sale to the public in contravention of the provisions of any law requiring traders to display information in regard to the contents, manner and effect or use of such goods.

Grant of Reliefs under CPA

On arriving at a finding of defect in the goods according to Section 14 CPA, the jurisdictional Consumer Forum may direct one or more of the following: (i) to remove the defect; (ii) to replace the goods with new goods of similar description which shall be free from any defect; (iii) to return to the complainant the price; (iv) to pay such amount as may be awarded as compensation to the consumer for the loss or injury suffered by the consumer due to the negligence of the opposite party; (v) to discontinue the unfair trade practice or the restrictive trade practice or not to repeat them; (vi) to cease and desist manufacture of hazardous goods; (vii) to pay such sums as orders if injury/loss is suffered by a large number of consumers not identifiable conveniently; (viii) to issue corrective advertisement for neutralizing effect of misleading advertisement; (ix) not to offer the hazardous goods for sale; (x) to withdraw the hazardous goods from being offered for sale; (xi) to provide for adequate costs to parties (the Complainant).

There exists no clear pronouncement of the Supreme Court (the apex court in India) till date on whether the liability under the CPA is strict or fault based. However, failure to conform to the standards required under any law, contract or representations of the trader are sufficient to constitute a defect. Furthermore, under Section 14 of the CPA as explained hereinabove, it is only the remedy of compensation that requires the claimant to necessarily prove negligence. In the case of Abhaya Kumar Panda v. Bajaj Auto [(1991) 2 CPJ 644], the Orissa State Commission directed repair of the goods, even though there was no intentional defect. Thus, the defence of no negligence may not be accepted by Consumer forums.

Validity of Limitation of liability clauses

Contractual liability has a role to play in product liability claims under the CPA. Courts in India have upheld limitation of liability clauses, which parties have specifically agreed to in the contract as recognized by the Supreme Court in Bharathi Knitting Company v DHL Worldwide Express Courier (1996) 4 SCC 704. However, such clauses may be struck down if found to be unconscionable in nature. In Maruti Udyog v. Susheel Kumar Gabgotra, [(2006) 4 SCC 644], the manufacturer of the vehicle had stipulated a warranty clause limiting its liability to merely repair the defects found if any. In view of this clause, the Supreme Court reversed the findings of the National Commission to replace the defective goods and held that the liability of the manufacture was confined to repairing the defect. Compensation was, however, awarded for travel charges to the complainant, which was incurred due to the fault of the car manufacturer.

Applicability of other laws

Section 3 of the CPA provides that the Act is in addition to and not in derogation of any other law. The Supreme Court in Secretary, Thirumurugan Co-operative Agricultural Credit Society v. M. Lalitha, [(2004) 1 SCC 305] has interpreted the above provision to mean that the remedies provided under the CP Act are in addition to the remedies provided under other statutes. Hence, the fact that a remedy is specifically provided for under another statute would not necessarily oust the jurisdiction of the appropriate authority under the CP Act. It has been further held that if forums under one statute and the CP Act are approached, then it is for the appropriate authority to permit the parties to opt between the consumer forum and the other forum, depending on the facts and circumstances of the case.

Establishment of Consumer forums

At present, there are 34 State Commissions, one in each State/UT and 571 district fora besides the National Commission. The state governments are responsible to set up the district fora and the State Commissions. States have been empowered to establish additional District Forum and also additional members in the State Commission to facilitate constituting benches and also for holding circuit benches. The Central Government is empowered to establish the National Commission. It has been empowered to appoint additional members to facilitate creation of more benches and holding of circuit benches. The second bench of the National Commission started functioning from 24 September 2003. The government is monitoring the disposal of cases by the consumer courts through National Commission. As per the current statistics, since its inception and up to 5.9.2008 , 2559451 cases were filed out of which 2327035 cases were disposed of by the District forums in various states of India .

Jurisdiction under Consumer Protection Act 1986

The District Forum has the jurisdiction to entertain complaints where the value of the goods or services and the compensation , if any, claimed, is less than INR 50,000. A State Commission has the jurisdiction to entertain complaints where the value of the goods or services and the compensation , if any, claimed exceeds 500,000 rupees but does not exceed 2 million rupees. It is also appellate forum for orders of the District forum. The National Commisssion has the jurisdiction to entertain complaints where the value of goods and services and the compensation exceeds two million rupees and also hears the appeals against the orders of the State Commission.

Period of limitation

A complaint is only admitted by any of the competent forums under CPA if it is filed within two years from the date on which the cause of action has arisen but it may be entertained after the said period after recording its reasons for condoning such delay , if the complainant satisfies that he had a sufficient cause for not filing the complaint within period of two years .

Procedure to file a complaint

A complaint can be filed in a District Forum or as per pecuniary jurisdiction in another forum within local limits of whose jurisdiction the opposite party or any of the opposite parties resides or carries on business, or has a branch office or personally works for gain.

Class actions

Under CPA Section 2 (1) (b) permits filing of a complaint by a consumer, any voluntary consumer association registered under companies Act 1956 or under any other law, the State government or Central Government, one or more consumers where number of consumers have same interest, incase of death of a consumer , his legal representative may ,make a complaint.

Penalty under Section 27 CPA

According to CPA ,where a trader or the complainant fails to comply with an order made by the relevant consumer forum , such person is liable to a punishment with imprisonment for a term which is not less than one month but which may extend to three years or with fine of not less than two thousand rupees but which may extend to ten thousand rupees or with both.

Hope this will help the Forum Members.

Finally after exactly one month of torturous waiting I got a ASUS GTX 580 DirectCU II 1.5GB GDDR5 graphics card as a replacement on 4th May.

I'm happy but when I think that MSI, Zotac, Sapphire or Gigabyte would've done the same in 7-10 days I'm angry.

My final opinion is that Rashi has to improve exponentially.

Here is my Experience with Rashi Back in 2008 i don't have the RMA slip now but i had a XFX 8500gt the problem with that was if i played any game for 15 minutes the comp. crashes i used to play COD4, Crysis, Lostplanet etc those days so i checked the GPU in my friends comp. so i send the card for RMA through the Local seller it was sent to Guwahati service center in ASSAM after 7-10 days i received after putting continuous pressure on the reseller i got a call
from their service center that the card is okay he played games on that for an hour when i asked what game he replied Project IGI i requested him to run some modern games or 3D Mark06 then he assured me he will after another week i got my card back the same card and same frustration but it was my luck or something else the card went dead after a month and after the same drill after 20days i got a brand new 8600GT.

That was my experience with Rashi but i think they should install some advance software for testing GPU in their service centers at least Furmark because we purchase Costly GPU's not only for the sake of display or playing videos or casual games but to play modern ones maxed out So they should also realize that ???

5670 went kaput . so ..

Went to Rashi [ Kolkata ] at 2 PM .... Lunch.
Waited till 2:30 PM , when windows opened , all the people who came after me queued up :| , i was behind 6 people .
The guy had calls coming in every 2 minute or so , and he went for a stroll everytime.. also , every other person who came into Rashi , just came to the window , asked , "Dada ekhane Mouse hobe>?" and then cuningly snuck into the line :|

I finally was able to submit in the 5670 at 3:50 PM.

Next week , i went to get the 5670 returned.

Went at 2:30 ...

Me: RMA # 5203 , 5670 No DIsplay ..
RMA: Yours is faulty , we will give you replace ment , sit for 5 minutes..

After 10 Minutes,
RMA: Dada we need some more time , delivery boy is missing , sit for just 10 more minutes..
Me: I need to buy a Fan , can i come back 1/2 hour later ?
RMA: Yes yes Ok Ok.

After 45 Minutes,
Me: Is it here yet ?

RASHI RMA NUMBER :330000016667

RMA challan number:10326965

name of the shop and location:RASHI PERIPHERALS 19 R.N. MUKHERJEE RD KOL-700001

Date of purchase:Bought LOGITECH G110 on 27/08/2011 from Vedant.

Date of RMA:09/09/2011

On 4th September it has been noticed first that the LED WENT OFF. and after sometimes come back again. This happened several times. On 7th the LED did not lit up at all. But the KB is working. Digitian advised me to RMA the product.

Accordingly on 09/09/2011 I went to Rashi and stood before the counter where Sambhu seats. I just want to see him of whom i have heard so much here. As usual after standing for fifteen minutes (when i already have given the product at his window) he asked me regarding the problem of the product. I told that KB is working but the LED IS malfunctioning. sometimes on and sometimes off. He immediately grins up and said

- " arye dada keboard to kaj korche . LED diye ki hobe" => Man, your keyboard is working fine. what the hell you will do with LED?
Me- “ki bolcho. Otar janeyi to kena hoyeche. Noile sare tin hazar taka diye KB kinechi emni emni?” => what are u saying? It is for the LED that I have bought it. Otherwise why should spend 3.5k for a KB?
I do not have the courage to tell him regarding the macro keys lest he scrambled up all.
Sambhu -“o achha tahale ratri bela etate alo jale”=>oh! I see . it emits light at night!!!
He immediately searched his stock to give a replacement but it was not there. Then he takes the product and put sticker on it and gives me the challan.
Told me it will take four working days to replace and to call him again on Wednesday.

In the evening Sambhu again called me up and said –“ How many colours did my KB emits?”

Me-I have set Three colours RED, BLUE & PURPLE for M1,M2 AND M3 RESPECTIVELY
Sambhu-ok Our Engineer is testing your KB. Presently the LED is working.
Me-But it goes off after sometime of typing. Now, when it will go off God knows that.
Sambhu- O. if no problem found then it will be given back to you.
Me-Ok. The led should not go off again.

I woulld like share my exprnc with you...
A year back my 8600 GT was sent to RMA for Rashi in mumbai.... I was staning in counter.. Next there was a guy with an Asus mobo... The Rashi guy gave him a ditry looking motherboard.... the owner of the board argued with the Rashi guy... Rashi told him that he has left only 2 months in warranty he better accept the board given to him or else forget about a replacement... There is lot of thing this ppl do... Which are not correct....

Rashi is great in sales no doubt. But if this is going to be the case then that pro is going to end up as a con. Nobody has anything against the manufacturers but if the distris/service centre is flashing such arrogance then its going to end up damaging the company's reputation. Then companies wonder why such low sales. Even if there's no strong law to protect the consumers in a way that it puts a fear on the service centres, you cannot deny that such documented threads becomes a tool to avoid such brands, solely because of the annoying antics.

But in any case, online complaint record here is nothing what people have to put through on a daily basis. Rashi doesn't seem to accept boards with anti-static bag on them. I've seen a intel based boards that they give has no proper socket protection. They simply put a paper on it and expect that to protect it.

When I asked them during the time (a week ago) when I collected the credit note on behalf of a friend about the paper "protection", they simply said that they're not responsible for it.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of assemblers bringing the board and removing the HSF and the processor infront of the front desk guy, but rashi needs to educate and insist assemblers/ end users to return the board with anti-static bag and the socket cap. But at the same time, they should return with the anti-static bag and socket cap (and on time).

P.S.: The lamington Rashi office doesn't seem to be displaying the corrosion and burnt warranty posters . They had this long poster with an email address to Asus head and that is missing now.

corrosion and burnt warranty is very much active. Alas, the amount of people who are not familiar with online community don't seem to be aware of it. There was some guy with a Asus notebook that he bought in U.S. Technically Asus India takes care of the RMA, but he submitted to Rashi.

About time Asus has an exclusive RMA centre. Even if its with rashi personnel, someone from asus will be able to overlook their ways to handling things. But if they're doing this, they need to do real time. A lot of people have said that its not possible to avoid so many brands but they're not going to let their money to be wasted this way. Not everyone has a spare board/GPU/memory kit lying around.

the only thing i want to know whether our voices written here is going to the concerned company or not? if no why we are writing this and why there is a separate thread for Rashi at all? Can't the Digit Senior Authorities arrange a forum for this in kolkata with the major Tech leaders (for which Rashi is the Distributor) as it is happening in mumbai on Sept 17,2011 for procuring commonman interest?

The concerned people are watching. Its not Digit, but its the suits. Every effort is taken to do the needful but people will need to keep on updating this thread with the relevant information and back it up with the rashi rma reference number. Feedbacks are very effective, mind you.

Its not going to be an overnight achievement, but more people start expressing this out and more this piles up faster and its done honestly, more effective its going to be. Ranting it out without facts and reference is simply not going to help anything.

Copy - Pasting it here from RMA Experience Thread :

The 8600GT went Kaput again ( the warranty is expired on 4th of this month ) - gave it to a friend to use instead of his Leadtek NVIDIA 6800GS 256MB which is still working. and this 8600GT 256MB worked for the least time before it went kaput - on a close observation I found that the clock generator used on the gfx card is just too old though the card and box content looked to be new but actually they are not.

The End Summary : The gfx cards XFX send here for RMA purpose is very bad and that's why not a single RMAed 8600GT worked for more than a month ( except the first one which worked for 3 months ) - I've spent a lot of my precious time to RMA this XFX 8600GT 256MB again and again but never be able to get a another model ( but those might be bad too ) due to Rashi as they have all the bad XFX 8600GT 256MBs made in the whole world in their stock - I would not like anyone to have the same experience like this - so future buyers should stay away from XFX gfx cards IMO.

What rashi does is take old components from dead cards and solder them on defective cards, no guess required how long it will last, the rashi manager during asus meet told me that they use GPU repairing machine(some sort of integrated soldering machine) to repair cards, they no longer send cards to xfx fro rma(low end models), stay away from XFX at all cost.

Could you please tell us the following:

1. How many times you have visited their center for this card. Only for this card.
2. How many times have they given you a 8600GT and it has failed.
3. What has been the average waiting time of queue.
4. How much average time has the handler allocated to you to hear your query.
5. Were you ever refused RMA and on what basis.
6. Did the handler ever end conversation with you -- and on your persistence the conversation started again.
7. How much would you rate Rashi Overall. 1(Worst)--->10(Best).

Thanks.

The rashi manager during asus meet told me that they use GPU repairing machine/t.
O RLY???

Even if they do, just how many centres have these "GPU Repairing machines"?

I seriously doubt they have that kind of manpower to do the needful. Its much faster to replace such units if they need "complex repairing". The only things I saw that remotely associated with "repairing" are bunch of soldering irons and stuff required to do so, few screens, a substandard psu to see if the h/w is booting and displaying. I seriously doubt service centres check if all the I/O ports, DIMM slots, pci slots, SATA/IDE slots and headers working the way they should (honestly, I doubt if anyone in India does this).

1 and 2. I've to RMA 8600GT 256MB for 5 times and each and every time they gave me a box packed unit as replacement and all of them have failed.

3. The average waiting time is around ~60 mins

4. 3-5 mins - everytime it's just a long line there and is a total mess .

5. I was refused RMA for the first time I submitted the 8600GT - the guy accepted the card after inspection and a week later when I called him up he said he found Fungus on the gfx card and I think you all know what happened after about the infamous Fungus issue.

6. When the handler told he found fungus in the gfx card he just said me to take the card as RMA is not possible for fungus problem. I argued with him over this issue on phone for 2-3 times and sent some 5-6 mails to Rashi for which I've got only reply
We will check with Branch & update to you
after that there's no replay from them even after my repeated mails to them.

After a lot of waiting ( more than two months to be precise ) finally I went into Rashi service center with my elder bro who have scolded the seller first ( the shop is well known as the outlet of Rashi ) and then the Rashi guy over phone really well - after that they agreed to replace the faulty unit.

7. My rating for Rashi would be 2/10.

I've never had a extreme bad case with Rashi although I have had my share of mishaps. But then again I don't give my computer parts for servicing to them. I just hand it back to the sub distributor who sold me the product. If it is something that has happened in one month I get a new product if it something that has been in my possession for some time it gets fixed within a week or so . The maximum duration Ive ever had anything to be serviced was an Original Intel board which took 14 days. I don't think Rashi's responsible for that either.

Anyway what I was going to say was that your distributor is always in a better position to ask for replacement simply because of the volume of purchases he makes from Rashi if you can persuade someone else to take it to them and get it done I'd always try that method first. This is also why I prefer not to buy anything I can get from my retailer even if it comes with a delay of a few days.

Furthermore Ive never heard of them giving back your money once a product is sold. It was either a replacement unit of the same specifics or one that is better in my case.

My Ati 5670 worked for approximately 2 days before it went kaput. I got it replaced with a brand new one within 4 days. (Delay is because the store didn't have the card in stock otherwise he would have made the replacement right then and there.)

if they not able to give u good one after few time replacement, after that if u claim to get new or money they will give u money by cheque .... 300 appx. less than market price,in case of keyboard i think they will replace with new one... try to give them little pressure..... but mind it rashi is not good like other obviously they will create problem for u.............. that for sure............ best of luck...........

How come warranty will be void? I mean he will just break the seal of the BOX, and it doesnt voids warranty, just that customer doesn't argues with dealer to give him a board "Exactly new sealed". Plus dealers always have copies of drivers with them, no need to break seal of a new board.

ahhh.. how abt Mine(long story bt the truth)-
Lets start with Very Beginning, I was Young Kid- learning Computers, I used to Hang out at Lamington Road frequently but could not guess the Reliable and trusted Component Provider. I used to confuse among all companies. Later when I went with My Professor as part of Course I have been told to look for ASUS Products. Why?? was My Question & Simplistic answer- "Quality, Service, Features, Price, Reliability & so on. Dictionary will end but Praise for ASUS Products never".

I Built First upgrade to AM3 Platform 2-3 yrs ago. Without even thinking for a minute I went for Asus M3N78 LE board...only for those words by my Professor ..neah..not at all, Searched a Lot about ASUS Company and found the results those are really Pleasant and Encouraging to go for ASUS Products.

But actual Drama was yet to begin, Board Failed a year later only to get a REAL TASTE OF ASUS SERVICE CENTER RUN BY RASHI PERIPHERALS.

Believe or not I actually did afraid when I went RASHI Service Center Lamington Road for the First time. Reason- Crowd waiting which can easily be compared to Ganesh Visarjan at Chaupati...Trust me it was !!
Most customers with Failed Motherboards forced me to rethink what did i Purchase, Never mind Submitted board with Hope to get a Proper Replacement.
To my surprise when I went to collect the Board, It was handed over to me as it is saying no problem with Board & other components must be responsible.

Huh..!! Only God Knows How many times I requested, it was annoying as I damn sure that board itself is defective. Went to Hardware shop & confirmed the issue. Next time I brought his LetterHead with problem clearely written on it but it resulted in nothing but a Lot of Pain. The guys just not ready to listen it and Manager Mr. Sharma himself was so arrogant that he simply refused to accept board. I RMAed all other components despite proper working condition and tried but the Display issue I was facing remain as it is. I was much unaware of ASUS Headquarters neither Toll Free Number had been launched nor way to register Complain at Consumer Forum. As I said earlier only God Knows how I spent each and every day with faulty board. But the day arises when board again showed its defectiveness and this time I got replacement about after 5-6 months later. Initially I had been offered for DDR3 Platform but it was newly launched and RAM was bit costly which was not affordable to me so later M4N78 Pro board i got as replacement.

I do not know what went wrong but the M4N78 Pro Board failed just few weeks ago, submitted for RMA. Went after 1 week & I requested to consider me few minutes before scheduled working time as I wanted to reach my office as early as I could. Off course the Excuses from RASHI Staff were there saying "we can not start before our Working Hours", I pleaded to consider me in point of view of Humanity, the only thing in return I saw is Laugh at Me...it did hurt but did not express...anyways!!
As soon as I enter the Manager Mr.Sharma asked engineer to check board....what???.. I wait for 1week, I called before collecting Replacement, I obtained Permission to reach office bit Late & what I got in return??
What RASHI STAFF did in entire week?
Never mind but I called before collecting then why I had been told to Collect Board?
Isn't it so called Pathetic Experience?
is this ASUS SERVICE? WELL REPUTED COMPANY'S SERVICE?
For these all Customers like me Purchase ASUS Motherboard?

Think !! RASHI PERIPHERALS as Distributor may be OK!! but as a SERVICE CENTER its dead end towards Customer's Dis Belief about ASUS Products.

So what Happened next?...The Board Failed...non Repairable, First time, I had a very Angry Arguments, No Stock for DDR2 Platform ok at least I should be given DDR3 Replacement but ASUS SERVICE CENTER run by dearest RASHI PERIPHERALS asked me to pay Rs.1000/- & get DDR3 Board...wow!! impressed me really thinking HOW CHEAP & POOR SERVICE is for company like ASUS
After few Hick-ups I had been given Credit Note; it was not satisfactory step adding more tension to me as I have to go again to Collect Cheque.

Now second story about RTN13-U Router, purchased on Sept. 10, Failed in January 11. Replaced with New Sealed. Failed again in July..last month. Got replaced with Faulty one & now again given it for Replacement. First Router had to be replaced because it was Not Powering ON, the replacement work till July last month. Issue with it- WAN PORT Stop detecting & Not Powering ON. New replacement showing same Problem no WAN PORT Detection. But to be my Surprise Box was not sealed & has usage signs. Power adapter was UK BASED...are INDIAN SOCKETS Compatible with UK STANDARD? spent some bucks buying Socket adapter. I do notify this to RASHI, but Manager showed his Rude, arrogant, dis satisfactory behavior & how customer should be treated at service center, in Hindi "Bahot hi Battamis Insan he voh, Grahak se kaise Pesh aaye uska koi Gyan nahi Hai". I have no time for arguments or I would surely taught him how Customer should be Treated.
Lets get back to new replacement, so frustrated I was; called ASUS TOLL FREE only to hear that "Pls get your Product Replaced". Searched Google for ASUS Representative, Got contact number of Dear Mr.Kadam who insisted me contacting Mr.Kishor. Kishor ji immediately arrange Pick Up & Technical Department confirmed that ROUTER IS FAILED AGAIN. The Product got replaced with Proper working & also get it delivered immediately. PROMPT SERVICE.
I remembered those words by my Professor. And I can Proudly say that None of the Word can not Matches the MY EXPERIENCE. I trust ASUS Products not For Such PATHETIC & MOST DIS SAPPOINTING SERVICE, not FOR FREQUENT FAILURE OF PRODUCTS.

I also would like to share What People say about RASHI PERIPHERALS SERVICE CENTER especially when it comes to ASUS.
I am writing down some REAL STATEMENTS of People I met since my First Visit to last visit in July month. Believe it or not Its Totally Upto You.
Customer 1: Rashi Ka service sabse ghatiya hai, Kya is liye ASUS ka board lene ka?
Customer 2: Me dopahar ko aaya 1 baje, itna Lamba line tha, current token no. 72 tha aur mera 110 tha, 5.30 baje tak rukna pada, Number aaya to rashi vala bole kal aajao & then abuses.
Customer 3: Me pichle 2-3ghante se counter pe khada hun fir bhi muze replacement nahi mil rahi he, abhi bol 3-4 din ke baad aajao.
Customer 4: No Handy Replacement for SAME PLATFROM, I had been told to switch to new platform...abuses!!
Customer 5: I'm working as sales person with Computer shop this is my 25th visit to rashi peripherals, kya bekar quality ka motherboards ASUS banate he? Gigabyte aur MSI ka ek bhi complaint nahi aur kabhi aayega to Instant replacement hota hai, Yahan Rashi me bahot magachmaari karna padta hai, kuch kaam ka nahi service center. Seth ne to asus board lena kam hi kar diya he....abuses.

What staff say:
Staff 1: ASUS ka quality bahot kharab hota ja raha he, roj kitna motherboards aaate hai
Staff 2: Fed up with this, Everyday there is Long Queue of Customers, staff is not enough at all to handle that much Traffic
Staff 3: (When I was about argue because of Motherboard RMA) Sharma(Manager) bekar insan hai, aap gussa mat nikalo, kisi ka nahi sunta voh, jyada shaana samzta apne aap ko
Staff 4: Daily overload of Motherboards, ASUS Solely responsible for such Poor Quality boards

WISH I COULD RECORD THIS ALL AND PROVIDE IT AS EVIDENCE BUT UNFORTUNATELY COULD NOT.

To Confirm some factors like Traffic of Customers I personally visited MSI, GIGABYTE, ASROCK, INTEL Service Centers, Sad news for ASUS. ASUS SERVICE CENTER is no way near to those Company's Quality of Customer Service. In fact I had brief chat with Many Customers, Some employee of Retailers & heard only one thing- THE SERVICE IS WAY BETTER.
The traffic is significantly low even in peak hours between 2PM-5PM.

Poor Asus Service in Kolkata by Rashi Peripherals
Illegal withdrawal of service commitment by rashi peripherals

Finally,
I request ASUS to Look what they are Providing to Consumer. Send your Staff to various SERVICE CENTERS, take surveys, chat with Customers waiting in Queue, chat with RASHI Employees by taking them in Confidence.....And I am 99.99% Confident you will Come with same Conclusion as that of Mine !!.. take my WORDS !!
INDIA is Growing Economy, Consumers are Expecting Excellent Built Quality and Service & I am afraid to say ASUS is Lacking. Launching New Products and Marketing isn't the only thing But Keep an EYE On MONTHLY FAILURE RATIO...most important! & AFTER SALES SERVICE of course. Its the time ASUS Should Establish their OWN SERVICE CENTER NOT LIMITING TO MOTHERBOARDS BUT FOR ALL PRODUCTS. Get People feel why they should Purchase ASUS PRODUCTS, why ASUS COMPANY is upheld in USA, EUROPEAN MARKET.
I am Member of Some TECHNOLOGY RELATED Forums since last Four Years. I had discussion with various Enthusiasts and Overclockers. Their only complaint is Poor RMA for ASUS Products so except Motherboards with less failure Ratio like CROSSHAIR, RAMPAGE, MAXIMUS, SABERTOOTH these guys do not go for Mid-High Level ASUS Motherboards & instead satisfy on MSI, Gigabyte Products.
ASUS should allocate some Team Members on various Technology FORUMS, WEBSITES to understand View Points, Feedbacks, Suggestions of these System Builders, Overclockers & other Customers. People here openly Express what they Feel. On Such FORUMS, WEBSITES a Customer should be able to Directly Approach Technical & Support Team Members.

For Me,
I have Said ENOUGH. After these all Incidents Its END OF JOURNEY with ASUS. I expect a Lot, I bear a Lot & I tackle a Lot & what I received is a COMPLETE DISPLEASURE EXPERIENCE for being LOYAL & RESPECTING ASUS. Its Just Not me but 60%-70% ASUS Customers faced this....A True Fact!
Taking these things on FACEBOOK and other social Websites is matter of few seconds. I have lot to say in Public. But I have no intention of Gaining false Popularity, I want to keep this Matter Between the COMPANY AND THE CUSTOMER and Hope it should be treated with Privacy and Great Care.
Its Humble Request to Mr. Vinay Shetty & His ASUS INDIA TEAM to look into matter briefly and Respond it not Verbally but by IMPLEMENTATION.
Kindly keep in Mind, Take Actions that should benefit Customers First & then comes the Company. I hope in few days not even in months nor in years ASUS will raise its BAR & will Gain Reputation much more than in USA & Europe in QUALITY, FAILURE RATIO, AFTER SALES SERVICE.

^^ I'll reconsider what product to suggest and Rashi sucks at everything - from after sales service to men/customer/after sales service management and this is going for a long period of time but the most strange part is the brands Rashi deals with not much interested in improving the quality of after sales service.

it's not possible for everyone to contact higher officials of manufacturers and if to get proper after sales service we have to contact higher officials each and every time it means a bad example of after sales service - good quality of after sales service should be easily available to most of the customers.

Manufacturers should pressurize dealers ( if they have to provide after sales service through dealers ) to give better after sales service and take steps ( not only promises ) to improve the quality of after sales service - we have a large market but why we can't get same quality of service like UK/US citizens get ?? We should get the REAL value of our money

As usual Rashi has again excercised their old tricks upon me. As per their date i went to their office today i.e. 20/9/2011. They said they have tested and everything is ok. They handed over the product and signed the challan. Late at night i came back to my home with the keyboard. after plugging in and installing the software freshly i started typing. This message is typed from Logitech G110 As you can see the keyboard is working perfectly but the LED problem is as it is for which I have RMAed the product.

ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting
THE VIDEO

pls suggest now.

The quality of their product testing and the knowledge of their of service engineers is pathetic at best and there lots off true but funny and annoying events about this.

Contact the shop from which you have bought the product and tell them about the issue.

That Mr Sharma is very arrogant, even with me. Irrespective of the people and the number of boards he's just like one of those govt. employee types who just doesn't want to get up and starts barking at people.

Do remember, its absolutely important to post Rashi RMA challan number on the same post of the complaint. More people speak out more easier it is for people to keep a track on things.

Sharing my freind's recent incident with Rashi

1)My freind XFX 4670 purchased in December(end- dont remember exact date)2010 went kaput in September 2011 end.
2) We went to Rashi service centre@Nagpur for replacement. They accepted it for replacement and the reason specified on reciept was burnt PCB.
3) They told that they will send it to Mumbai for repairing which will require 15-20 days. We did'nt had any other choices, so we accepted to wait.
4) My friend called Rashi after 15-20 days and he was told that his card was not repairable and he may get replacement after 10-15 days.
5) So my friend went to service center after the specified time, but the staff members told him that he will not get any sort of replacement and told him to take back his card.
6) Friend called me and I told him not to take the card unless they give him a working card.
7) So we had lost all hopes for getting replacement and decided to buy a new card this month i.e. November 2011.
8) Just when he was about to purchase new card accidently my friend went to take back his 4670 and to his surprise he got a old, used 4670 without any box yesterday i.e. 9th November 2011. He without any objection accepted the card, though IMO he should have got a new card.

Here in Nagpur we don't have any other choices than Asus, XFX because of availibility and support.
Sorry for my bad english.

Sorcerer, are dealers allowed to give refurbished units for RMA honor..?
The Sorcerer
Nov 10, 2011 at 12:17 PM
^^ As far as what I know: Dealers give it to Rashi and Rashi gives the stuff to the dealers of which he gives it back to you. If Rashi is giving refurb stuff to the dealer then there's little that can be done.

Nothing wrong with refurb stuff its well within T&C in most cases, but its the condition of the refurb product that they give is at times, questionable and frowned upon.

Rashi definitely is a bunch of scum. My Asus Rampage III Extreme was sent to them (by the shop from where I purchased the board) for RMA last week because of faulty CPU power connector and RAM slot.

Those scum claimed "Socket pin damage" after four days the board was with them. It was not possible unless they damaged it because the board worked fine with the CPU power cable on the secondary CPU power connector and when not populating the faulty RAM slot.
So they wouldnt honour the warranty.

The shop contacted Asus who recommended going to Digicomp for warranty. Digicomp also said faulty pins and wouldnt honour the warranty.

Now the shop has contacted some marketing head at Asus to request him to get the board replaced. He has told the shop to bring the board over to Asus in the evening with RAM and CPU.

Hoping for the best.

Down with Rashi!

When you sent the board for RMA, was the CPU socket covered with the plastic shroud which comes with the board -- out-of-the-box..?

Does the challan have any seriel on it..?
Extreme Gamer
Nov 22, 2011 at 7:11 PM
Nope asingh. Challan is with the shop but no serial number. I lost the socket cap so the processor was installed on the socket during transportation. But while going to rashi it was not, but there is no possible way that the socket got damaged during transport because the box is made in such a manner.

Generally, there's a statutory warning with any LGA mobo that if you send the mobo for RMA, you need to put the socket cap on.

There is a low possibility that an uncovered socket can be damaged. But that is the loop hole Rashi is playing. Honestly, when you argue with the higher authorities, I can bet you -- they will say that the socket was sent without the plastic cover. It is equivalent to me saying "while walking across a road you might get hit by car'. Will it happen. NO. Can it happen. YES. You have Rashi there for you.

Extreme Gamer's email to Asus said:
Mr. Sarkar,

You ignored my last communication to you. So I decided that Asus products will not be purchased by me along with any other product distributed by Rashi Peripherals.

I do not know how my board was repaired, and you did not send me the details of all the repairs carried out, but I dont think I can use the refurbished board I have been sent.

The CPU retention bracket moves when open when it should be fixed to the board. Only the lid is supposed to move.

There were numerable cases of bent fan/front panel header pins on the board which I could fix as they only involved straightening them.

The board is actually CHIPPED at one edge: The bottom-right corner. A circuit unfortunately is in the path of the chip.

Proof:

Tapan Sarkar did not reply to my email. Took his phone number from Keshav COmputers and called him up.

He was aggressive in his communication with me, trying to assert himself. I told him that I could not not personally go and submit mobo and take it back from Rashi, so I sent it through Keshav Computers.
Then he said that I should ask Keshav Computers how they could take the board without inspecting it. He asked me to instruct Keshav Computers to send Rashi an email saying that the mobo was received in damaged condition, and then see how they respond.

He said, "why did you not go and personally submit and collect the board?"(almost exactly this). Then I told him I am busy preparing for my higher education stuff and cannot move about often. He was also shocked that the the person from the shop did not inspect the board before taking it back from Rashi. He told me that because of such incidents the company ends up suffering.

He then told me to tell Keshav Computers to e-mail Rashi that the board was damaged and to see their reply.

No. If you ask me, I don't see how it matters much if you give to dealer or to Rashi, its eventually going to rashi. or atleast that "is" the idea. How far away is Rashi centre from that store anyways? Ideally, its best if you send it to service centre directly if you can. I know rashi can be an ass, but their passing the buck excuse will be limited.

Distributor cum Service center-Rashi, Nehru Place, Delhi

Date of RMA-26th NoV 2011

Receive Date of the product- 24 Dec 2011

About their service -
Service is very poor. They start considering your problem after 20-30 calls.
It took around 1 month for just an RMA of Asus Motherboard which was only 10 months old.
They keep telling me "sir product is not available with us kindly take a credit note of Rs 6k-7k" and that too for a motherboard of around 11k.
Bt i was not willing to take such a low amount for a high end mobo.
They also gave me repaired mobo on 15th december i think. But just after checking i realised this mobo is also not working. So again i sent a mobo.
I kept calling Kamal from Rashi about RMA of my mobo And he was full of excuses.
And after lil-bit of abusing and all. I got my mobo. Working fine now.

Ok guys, an update:

I Have been in regular contact with Tapan Sarkar @Asus and had communicated with Chandan and Abhishek of the RMA department @Rashi.

Today Tapan told me that the service work was done on the mobo and I should contact Rashi on monday to find out when I can pick up the board.
I told him clearly that I want a replacement if the board is not in satisfactory condition.

If they dont I will boycott Rashi, asus and any other brand sold by Rashi, and request the others to do exactly the same.

Product: Asus P8H67-M EVO

Date of purchase: 13-04-2011

Distributor cum Service center: Rashi Peripherals, Saheed Nagar, BBSR (Bhubaneswar)

RMA No.: 320000004834

RMA challan number: 10542300 (its the I/W Ch No.)

Name of the shop and location: Targous Technology, Plot-No.103 (1st Floor), Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar

City: Bhubaneswar

Date of RMA: 29-11-2011

Receive Date of the product: 30-12-2011

About their service:
The day i submitted was Tuesday or Wednesday IMO. They told they would shipping the board (on Saturday of that week) to Mumbai as it was a high-end board and it couldn't be checked in Bhubaneswar. Initially the Staff gave a 20 days time for RMA. When I called them on 20th day, they said board has not yet reached, and again extended it to 3 days more and continuing this way they extended up to 30th ( i.e 11 days more than the desired time). So, they took a month for the RMA.
Moreover I thought they would be giving me a new Mobo, but instead they gave me my old board by repairing it.

Packaging and condition of Product:
The board seemed dusty. The staff just took out a white coloured motherboard box, took my board out of it and simply handed over to me that way. When i asked for the cover, he denied. He didn't even return the motherboard's grey polythene packet in which he had sent the board. Instead he wrapped the board in a newspaper and handed over to me. Hopefully i had been with my brother, so i could carry it safely with me on 2 wheeler else i would have ended up breaking the board while traveling.

Really very disappointing service

So, I went to the Rashi service centre today.

I saw the returns/delivery centre, and oh my god...manhandling is an understatement.

They had fixed my board by gluing on some BS. Talk about quality control...

BUT, the main reason I had sent the board in the first place (RAM slot), had not been fixed at all :rage:

So Mr. Abhijeet, service head, told his people to fix it immediately. But after 25 minutes he told me to bring my own RAM and CPU tomorrow, as he had to bring the Mumbai office into the loop, and get service manuals from Mumbai. Couldn't be done today; I had to go elsewhere.

Abhijeet had told me to call him before coming to the service centre. Today he reversed his position. Told me that coming today won't do anything. So I called Abhijeet again. Tried to sweet talk me into submitting to his decisions. He said it was gonna take one more week. He said they would have replaced the board if it was still available (as if; and you guys can show him that it is still available right?). So I asked him if I showed him stock availability, would he get the board for me or not. He asked me where it was available. I told him in Mumbai/Delhi (I saw the board online).

BTW the PCB repair they carried out involved hot glue and wire soldering
I told him that I use 4 GPUs (slightly exaggerated claim; I do use 3 ;)) and that the heat would melt that glue and the fix was unacceptable.

I have warned him that 1 week=7 days, and it should not become 8 days whatsoever be the problem. After that I am gonna trash-talk to him in his office.

But I must inform you that the IT Depot does not have it in stock (if you look at the page).

Contacted Abhijeet again. Now he is saying that they cannot buy a board back and whatnot after selling it (excuses, excuses).

My bad, overlooked..
Did u try contacting asus directly?
Extreme Gamer

yes. Tapan Sarkar is the eastern region service manager.

d6 I had told abhijeet exactly that-MD has the board. If you read my post again, you will see that I wrote that he said that they cannot buy back a board that has already been sold.

BTW I have used the escalation option in the Asus website. Lets see.

When i went to Rashi with dead P5Q mobo(6 months back) at that time LGA775 has reached EOL.
They said it will b repaired...
After a couple of days, they said its a VRM issue can't be repaired & added one P5Q is avail at delhi but its a repaired mobo...
I said no to that n asked for credit note... Since ter s one mobo at rashi-delhi they cannot provide credit note..
Then i spoke to the manager that i'm not comfortable to take a repaired board n he said that i can get any new mobo i want w/bill & 3 years fresh warranty..
They've taken the value of my dead P5Q as 7.4K(bought for 8.8K), so i paid 4K & bought Z68-V..

In my case they have to provide full credit note dont you agree? I paid 23,500+ 13.5% VAT for the board.

BTW I wont get the Asus board. I'll get the Gigabyte G1. Assassin if they give me the credit note (is that possible? I have never had to do such a thing before).

Please do the below on my behalf:
Compile an email with the person's name and the serial number of the product+ the time that went by. No need to say you were frustrated and all that, they'll eventually figure it out. In the bottom simply tell them that since Rashi failed to do so despite claiming to have the professional type repair unit in their usual press releases, you want a solution from Asus as this is an Asus product. Just a plain jane letter enough to roll it to them.

Once you're done with all that, just put a question casually that is Asus still honours the burnt and corrosion warranty, why are the posters not present in Rashi service centres?

Update:
Ok, I called up Abhijeet again today. He was a bit rude and told me that calling him up everyday was not going to change anything. I told him to give me a credit note. He told me to talk to Tapan.

Tapan would not pick up the phone. But I think he would stick to his stand that "the source of damage cannot be determined, so repair is the only option" if he picked up.

I had used the feedback channel at asus's website, and have just received a reply from them. They have asked the very same person (Tapan Sarkar) to help me out. WTH.

Here's a transcript: ( I will forward it to the escalation address).

The reply I am sending to him right now:
Dear Sir,

Please note that Mr. Tapan has not been very helpful in this regard. He constantly insists on getting this board repaired, but that is not the solution I want.
This is not the kind of board that you get repaired. The quality of repairs carried out is also very poor. This is the first time I have seen hot glue being used to repair a PCB along with the soldering of a wire.

I want a full replacement for this motherboard. Or give me a full refund/credit note for another board. I can return the box+accessories if asked to do so. The refund amount is 23,500 + 13.5% VAT.

To show you the condition in which I received the motherboard, I had taken pictures and a video of one of the faults of the board:

Video- 2011-12-13-088.mp4 - YouTube

Picture- *i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss213/aayushthegamer/2011-12-13-081.jpg

*i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss213/aayushthegamer/2011-12-13-084.jpg

I thought your authorised channel (Rashi Peripherals) was supposed to be doing quality repairwork, but this is just pathetic.
Also, a friend told me that all RMA/Service centres are supposed to have the Burn and corrosion policy posters displayed in clear sight to the customers. In the two hours for which I was in the Kolkata centre, I did not see even one poster stating this.

I am also forwarding this to the escalation service (reachus@asus.com).

[Customer Comments]
* Subject:Very bad service
* Topic:2.Service Quality;
* Description:
I had purchased this motherboard, the Asus Rampage III Extreme, on the month of
April 2011.

In November I submitted the motherboard for RMA to the shop (Keshav Computers) I
had purchased from; one CPU power connector had stopped working and one RAM
slot had stopped working. The board was rejected by Service Centre (Rashi
Peripherals Pvt. Ltd.) for bent pins, a condition under which I had not given the board.
So I resubmitted the board to include bent socket pins upon instruction by Mr. Tapan
Sarkar.

But it took them over one month to return the board to me. When I received the board,
there was damage on the PCB. Now they took another three weeks to repair the
board. And the kind of repair that has been done is unacceptable.I even made them
run the board in front of me, only to find that the original problem (RAM slot) had not
been fixed.

Now they have asked for a week to fix the problem. I told them that the kind of
repairwork done was unacceptable. I want a replacement.

Critical update:

Tapan has reversed his stance.

He told me that he was fighting a lot internally with Rashi to get me replacement and I shouldn't have sent an email complaining.

He called me up sometime later and said that a fresh board without a box had been sent from the HQ to them for replacing my board.

He said that he would check the board out to see whether it really was a new board.

Lets hope for the best.

I think his job was on the line lol.

Update:

Bad news. The info turned out to be false. Tapan has told me to call the asus toll free number on monday and explain everything.

The hope was false :(

@Extreme Gamer, sad to know that you have to bear all this. I guess I was lucky I stuck to Gigabyte. Atleast Accel Care which handles Gigabyte's RMA is prompt in their services. I even got a mobo replaced with a brand new mobo when infact the mobo had bent pins. I have read on some forums that Asus takes a 360 degrees turn when a customer tries to return a mobo with bent pins.

Quite satisfied with Rashi RMA.
I had given my P8H67-M EVO for RMA as it had some Overheating problem. And after around 1.5 months today they gave me P8H77-M PRO for Rs.300 more.

Well i am shock that even after 6 years RASHI havent changed.I started my own pc assembly in 2005 and my first board was ASUS.
It was a unique board in world where the PC used to get start with restart and power button press together thrice.Later display problem came in.

Gave for replacement twice same problem crop up.And each time i was given board in plastic sealed sheet as if new board was given to me.3rd time i went to RMA centre and there on his pc i came to know i was stick boards as old as 18 months old for rma as new to me after some display repair whereas my purchase was hardly 2 months old.

That was one case.

2nd case a shop stick me asus tv tuner card worth rupees 3000 whereas i was looking for 2000 worth pinnacle than stating this carry 3 years warranty whereas pinnacle 2.

After within 5 days of use the software was unable to detect the hardware.Again twice i replace it again same problem crop up.That card is still with me i had hardly used for 15 days and all 3000 went down the drain. The shop keeper was eager to show me way to rashi rather than helping .I had bough 60k worth product than with this card than in 2006.

Also during my visit i saw with any reason they used to reject product in warranty. One chap was said cordless mouse battery leaked so out of warranty. But as soon as guy called the shop where he was working they readily accepted it.

Also i was called once my card has return from banglore to their mumbai office. And when i visited they shocked me saying sorry it havent.I was shocked making a trip 2 hour trip to their office they dont have the product.

From that day i swear i will never buy asus and rashi servicing product.Thats the reason i still havent touched asus tablet also.

Really horrible experience. Didnt you question them, why they called you when your product hadnt yet arrived?
I did but to that time i had accepted my faith(it was my mistake to go with the dealer to buy asus product even though i had bad experience with it) plus i am not the one who slap people for silliest of mistake. The chap was like who said it has come. You might have call wrong number.

In the mean time i saw the chap asking a shop person to ask his shop owner whether he is ready to keep the same chap at his shop for 500 extra income from present salary point.

Also i got the biggest lesson in life not to go into owners word ever who doesn't help his customer.

One thing i know is rashi wont help in person. You need to find a shopkeeper who is the handle point else its a corruption point centre. If had bribed he would had help which i didnot did than but now i might because i know without money no idiot works.

Anyways the biggest discomfort for me than was giving an 18 months old board that too someone else rma.Thats really not done.

^^ I remember when I got an old Asus DVD drive as replacement instead of a only 2 months old DVD drive - actually each time they were replacing with an old non working DVD drive of different serial number but same model and the replaced DVd drives has the same issue.

I got 2 DVD drives of same model ( for friends ) and both of them have same issue - managed to get a OLD but really working DVD drive in a special way after trying a lot and another friend just decided to go for a LG DVD drive as he was very angry with all this.

Rashi RMA number: 330000043618

Date of purchase: 4th January 2011

City: Kolkata, India

The incident in chronological manner:

Rashi peripherals offers 3 years Replacement Warranty on every ASUS graphic cards.

I've bought a ASUS GTX 580 1.5GB GDDR5 graphics card on 4th January 2011 from Arihant Infotech which had been replaced with a ASUS GTX 580 DirectCU II 1.5GB GDDR5 graphics card in May, 2011.

Since I'm physically challenged my dad Mr. Pradip Agarwal handles talking on my behalf.

20th July 2012 - There was no display coming out of the graphic card so I sent it for RMA via my clerk on 24th July 2012.

After just one look the service engineer told me that the card is bad and we (Rashi peripherals) accept RMA only within the first week after purchase. They told me to take to Digicomp.

24th July 2012 - Digicomp accepted the card under DS No. 38476 and said call on 1st August 2012.

30th July 2012 - Dad called up Digicomp and they said it's gone for repairs call on 6th August 2012.

6th August 2012 - Dad called up Digicomp and they said it has not arrived yet call on 13th August 2012.

9th August 2012 - Digicomp called up Dad & said your card is unrepairable thus you have been issued a replacement letter which you need to give to Rashi peripherals.

10th August 2012 - My clerk took the letter from Digicomp & gave it to Rashi peripherals they said we'll call within a week.

17th August 2012 - Since nobody called Dad made a call to Rashi peripherals & Mr. Avijit Dey answered the call & he says you'll get a GTX 570 so dad said why will I take a lower model.

Then he says pay the difference & take a higher model so dad says why should I pay anything when it's within warranty give me a GTX 580 DirectCU II or better card then he says it's company policies & also says very rudely in Hindi that you'll take a higher model & won't pay money eh.

So dad says return the purchase price which I paid for the card & he says you used 1.5yrs so we'll deduct some money & refund you so dad says that is unacceptable as it's within warranty then he says it's company policies & also says very rudely in Hindi that you used the card 1.5yrs & won't get money deducted eh.

Dad got angry & starts shouting at him that I know the company policies & you can't bend it like this.

Mr. Avijit Dey bangs the phone.

The card is still in Rashi's Kolkata Service Center.

This behaviour is unacceptable in my opinion.

Take advice from a legal advisor.. Sent them a letter from lawyer officially notifying them that you will move to court unless they solve your problem as per law..

By the way, one personal question, do you own a PC named the Tarantula ??

If you're looking at things that way, Service experience in places like Kolkata is undesirable, its not just Asus and Gigabyte. Some people from my end also complained about APC's replacement in that area. On the other side, some regional managers that said that of all places, they find Kolkata very difficult because of the paperwork for courier that needs to filled for such states and also quality of manpower in such agencies have a thing for taking agency and company's name for a toss (although some people who manage agencies tend to do that in other states too). People from Delhi have also complained as well, but in their case a lot of them didn't get a bill from a retailer so that's another issue. If you've been lurking around enough and see people who face issues with RMA, you see a lot of people talking about bad service in Kolkata.

But there have been not many complaints if you look at Bangalore, Chennai compared to Delhi, Kolkata and many places- including Mumbai. I don't think I've seen complaints from Hyderabad either.

Honestly, people should start filing consumer complaints. Number of such complaints to reflect on company's decision to renew a contract. More it is the better- because companies try not loose contracts. Then again, service centres have a habit of trying to bag more clients then they can handle- and screw up existing experience of existing clients. I've been told that Digicare may follow suit, but not sure if that affects a lot overall... yet.

Only heard/faced issues from WD, Dell, Asus & Transcend in Kolkata.

Rashi RMA number: 330000043618

Date of purchase: 4th January 2011

Date of RMA: 10th August 2012

Dad got angry & starts shouting at him that I know the company policies & you can't bend it like this.

Mr. Avijit Dey bangs the phone.

The card is still in Rashi's Kolkata Service Center.

This behaviour is unacceptable in my opinion.

they are simply impolite .. so if now Digicare handles Asus RMA what is Rashi doing - just distributing products ?? and why Digicare pointed to Rashi when they should arrange the replacement unit - Rashi is the distributor now and Digicare is the service provider or they in Honeymoon now to confuse customers - Asus should announce it clearly who is the the service provider of their products ?? the sitiation is getting very confusing

Rashi is still the cr@p it was years back, now we may have digicomp but nothings changed as per rashi's front.

looks like they are all concerted with each other behind the closed doors or under the table ??

yep, most of the complaints are emerging from WB - paper work must be hard but ain't the management guys are literate enough to fill this properly ?? if there's some local laws ( though way Bill thing is a PITA ) the management guys either have to cope up with it or else they need to override it ( they know how to do it ) for the sake of customers only if they care about the customers though ....

and what about the local service center guys here - don't they know the procedures of RMA - be it GBT or Asus or any other brand - they are acting same now - looks like they were recruited without any qualification in a special way.

@ OP - mail Asus and CC those to some higher officials of Rashi and Digicare too but don't hope that Asus will jump into and do something immediately - ( this is for just proper procedures ) but if they do don't even miss a single chance make your claim strongly and if possible contact the shopkeeper and see what he can do about this.

Anyway, abut Asus policy - long back bought two DVD RW drives and both gone kaput and very time they were handling me a repaired or old DVD drive which are all bad - when I asked for replacement they said it's not on company policy though I've seen they are issuing replacement for Sony DVD RW drivers - after sme raw talk and with some special help ( finally managed to bag lightscribe DVd drives ( old ) and they are still working .

If you're looking at a long term solution, the law has to be strong for consumers, and people who should reinforce that law should be equally strong and people need to start filing consumer complaints. Its only when people start filing consumer complaints, things happen and it hits the company back- and that's when they change. Australia has a consumer law where if your hardware is destroyed and its not the end user's fault- and you lost money because of it the company is responsible. Now before people start charging in "ooh but its a developed country" and all that, people file complaints, they don't just sit down and endure it. Having such sections in forums have an effect but its just short term and only because companies who sees forums for complains have genuine reason (fair enough, atleast an effort is made) for their brand- but that's not how everyone thinks.

Think about it- out of so many people who have said/threatened to companies/agencies/individual that they'll file a consumer complaint- how many of the people in this forum have filed a consumer complaint without saying that- or after saying that? No1, rather people have found comfort in wasting times in calls and wasting days. Consumer complaints are effective. The regular guys have friends and contacts in regional level or with direct companies- but that's not a long term solution. Its not a solution at all. People need to start filing consumer complaints and then post that on the forums as well. That will stir things up when there's good number of people doing it.

But also at the same time, some consumers need to be smart. A lot of users know how to buy but don't know how to use it properly. Anything from over- tightening the motherboard screws, not using the same power supply cable that you get with the power supply and no surge protector. Few have even bought a reference card and a non reference cooler, removed the cooler and fitted with that cooler and probably must have done something wrong, destroying the card and then blaming the manufacturer. There was also someone who blamed TRUE120E in some forum that it fell over their 4870 during midnight- and then after asking series of questions the guy used the same stock screws that was there on the AMD board's retention bracket (thinner threads) and not using the one provided with the heatsink.

Note down people's first and last name when you speak/interact with during RMA. Insist on email since you have a copy of what they're saying rather than talking via phone no matter how convenient because worse case scenario they might pass the buck or claim they haven't said anything like that.

I know sitting in of the front of a monitor, typing and calling won't matter much but Consumer Court - is it really effective .. I know a case of Fridge Company and a electronics shop ( who sold it ) has lost in Consumer Court though it took nearly 1 year to get the justice and when the court ordered for a Rs. 10k compensation ( the price of the fridge only and what about the court expenses the customers had to pay and the long waiting and harassment ? ) - The shop and fridge company simply ignored court order - so the only option left for the customer is to go to the Civil court and god only knows how long it would take and how much money will be spent more on this not to mention the time - so what happened next ? nothing. If Companies care about the decision f the Consumer Court - fine ! but if they don't prepare to fight this on Civil Court - now most of the people the just don't want to do this for many reasons ( including some I mentioned above ).

But there's no escaping from the fact that if more and more people start filing consumer complaint ( and some public forum post too ) against a company/agency the company/agency will be forced to look into the matter and things will start to change.

Note down people's first and last name when you speak/interact with during RMA. Insist on email since you have a copy of what they're saying rather than talking via phone no matter how convenient because worse case scenario they might pass the buck or claim they haven't said anything like that.

Rashi RMA number/ RMA challan number+ name of the shop and location: 150000028484-- Rashi peripherals PVT LTD in b-22, Sudershan pura, Jaipur
Date of purchase: 09/09/12
Date of RMA: 13/09/12
City: Jaipur
The incident in chronological manner:
I bought Asus RT-N13U B1 for 3k from eBay on 30/06/12 and shipment arrived on 09/09/12.

I opened up the package, Started the router, connected it via LAN Cable and started configuring and BOOM! It started Rebooting in every 3-6 mins resulting in Disconnections in Router Mode(AP and Repeater were fine)
The I upgraded The F/W and provided utility, Rebooted router and tried again, Still same issue! <I was screwed :-x >
Called up Ebay Seller and asked him to replace it, He dined by saying that they only replace in case of DOA(Dead on Arrival) but Also told me that in this case he can help me if i send router back to him and he will get it replacement in ASUS Service there , I denied cuz It could have taken 2 weeks for that! :|

On 13/09/12 I went to Jaipur and Explained the Reps abt the issue..dafaq He ignored me lol... It took me 10 mins to explain him abt issue later he just Took the BOX(Bill was in BOZ ) from me and gave a Receipt and Told me that It will take 5-6 days to get another replacement Router from Mumbai. I Left the center

On 22/09/12 I remembered that Bill was in BOX and I was like
I called 'em, a guy picked up the call after Long ring and I asked him About the bill that was in box and he said the box is in Mumbai and i'm screwed again and asked him about Status of my Router, he Replied that he can Give me Asus RT-N10<cost 1k> way <Bullshit thing> and I denied and asked him to give me N13u B1 router or else Refund. He politely replied that they donno got any more pieces of that router and if possible he can arrange either refund or repair. :(

EDIT:- The reps. told me that it will take a week minimum and I Got Scanned copy of the Bill BTW but will it be sufficient to claim warranty in future?

Update

On 10/10/12 I called 'em again and asked about the same.. and they told me that the product is shipped from Mumbai on 26th of last month.. I Asked them when will I get it.. The guy discussed something with his colleagues and told me that the router is sent back to Mumbai. DAFAQ.. I asked 'em why and they replied that they don't know abt the matter and told me to call tomm. :(

Update

Got my router back
w/o it's box, Lan Cable, Bill, CD-ROM, Guides etc. and the worst thing is that the issue is not fixed
and Now I'm 100 Km away from Service station!
I'm completely screwed!

My friends Asus M4N68-M-LE V2 went bad. It was getting off after 15-20 minutes of uses and after few days stopped giving display. So on 13 September 2012 I went to Rashi Peripherals Goa and gave that motherboard for RMA. After 2 months of long wait they gave me the replacement which was not a new board but some repaired board of same model. I got it home and connected to test and to my bad it wasn't giving display . So again went to Rashi and gave that board and told that i want the repair/replacement asap. They said they have to follow the procedure. In the forum i read that Asus as appointed Digicare as their service provider. Is it confirmed? Because i have a very good experience with digicare for my Kingston RAM and a MSI motherboard. they Replaced it within 12-15 days..
Now i am just praying to god that at least this time Rashi will give the motherboard in good working condition..

The incident in chronological order :

March 2010 : Bought ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 Motherboard from the reputed local retailer.

October 2012 : On 18th October motherboard didn't start up. So on the following day i.e. 19th October, I in warded it for RMA. The lady on the counter told me that I would receive it in 15 days as it was a higher end motherboard otherwise it would have been done in 7 days.

29th October 2012 : It weren't yet 15 days, but after reading reviews about Rashi in this forum, I inquired about the status of my Motherboard.
They told me that they are unaware of the status of product and thus they will write an e-mail to their Mumbai branch to where my motherboard has gone.

Kept inquiring about it for everyday.

Also, I mailed the Mumbai branch but never got any reply from them.

5th November 2012 : It is now 18th day. I went there and they told me that its CPU socket is damaged and will undergo a repairing. So I met their Manager Mr. Shivratan, he talked with me for just 1 minute and then just ran away from me without giving me a convincing answer, and before leaving me he YELLED at me and told me that if I want my motherboard then he will give it to me without any repairs.

That's it for now.

^^ why did not you contact Digicare ??

I didn't knew dude. As a matter of fact next day I gave my i7-920 for RMA in digicare and there I saw banner of ASUS.

Anyways, got a new processor from digicare in 8 days. GREAT SERVICE.

Still no news from rashi. It's been 21 days already and next week is diwali and I don't think they will be able to deliver it next week. So all in all it'll take 30 days or more. And I am sure that they will charge me for repairs done on it. Rashi is cheap company, which doesn't even care even if its a high end product.

Now I am skeptical about buying Asus products in future. I think I won't ever buy a single product of Asus.

Gigabyte is next. They also provide great service.

Rashi RMA number/ RMA challan number+ name of the shop and location: 150000028484-- Rashi peripherals PVT LTD in b-22, Sudershan pura, Jaipur
Date of purchase: 30/06/12

On 22/09/12 I remembered that Bill was in BOX and I was like
*media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9ql4gEBqO1qjwfgq.png

I went to rashi Nehru place yesterday to get my asus m5a97 evo r2 motherboard checked. The lady looked at the board and said "this is not in warranty now". And lunch time has started. I asked should I come after lunch then. She said "yes".

After lunch she made me wait for 10mins. My token no32, but she attended no33 first (a guy with toshiba HDD). And then tells me - "We don't entertain out of warranty motherboards". :D
Thank you for being so considerate.

First time it went bad, it was 2.5 years old. Got it replaced under warranty (not sure the one i got was refurbished or new), which lasted 2 years.
Both time issue looked same to me, no display although PC was getting switched on, lights in lan port, motherboard led on, cpu fan was running but OS was not booting. Last time they said it could be because of power surge or something.
