I own a Sony DRU-820 DVD-RW drive... the problem is that frm past few days whenever I press the eject button the tray pops out and then pops in automatically aftr 2 secs (sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't) and while the tray is out the light blinks continuously until the tray pops in.. what could be the prob???

Had the same problem with my Samsung one. Its a faulty drive. Get it repaired/replaced.

[On a side note scan your pc for virus or spyware just to be sure]

I have noticed a few computer users manually pushing the tray in, instead of using the eject button. This damages the tray mechanism.
So if u do the above thing, avoid doing it henceforth.

The drive is over 2 years old so I cannot claim any warranty.. and I always use the eject button for opening/closing the tray.. there are no viruses in my pc.. so I think its a mechanical issue...
anyways thanks.. :)

Some drives do have that issue but got resolved by flashing the new firmware. Had an issue with samsung 203-d, but after flashing the firmware, it was working fine.
