I have configured a wireless router and me and my friend are connected to the same. Both can ping each other and both of us are using Windows 7 OS. We can also share and access each others files. But the problem is when we play a game(Counter Strike/Fifa) I'm unable to see the other person. I had also turned off the firewall in both our laptops but still the problem persisted. Is it possible for someone to guide me... so that we can start playing games on LAN.

Just check in the wireless adapter props. if u have set the settng for ipv4 config. to: Obtain ip automatically.
If u use static ip while using a router it might create prblems.
After this check the ip's of bth mchnes, they shud be in same class & range.
I guess it shud work now...
Tip:CS Wud be d best game to chek the conn.,try fifa later.

I dont have much idea about this...
but there are some applications available that have predefined setting regarding the ports and other stuff for different games...may be that can help you...eg. Hamachi server for NFS
