Well,I am going to suggest this fix to all the user over the forum who is experiencing problem with the YouTube application, try going to the settings>application manager>select the YouTube application> Clear its cache and the data stored. Now put your device to the Airplane mode and wait for a minute. Again put your device out of the Airplane mode and then again open the YouTube application, and try searching for the video this time it will start working normally.

None is as useful as the official one but there are many that can be used as a replacement app.

I think Viral is a great app and overshadows the official one in almost every department.

Go to settings on mobile
> Tap wifi > Modify network
> Change DHCP to STATIC
> change DNS 1 to 4.4.4.4 and DNS 2 to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

Tried this. Internet stopped working on my phone after this -_- (Was getting 1-2 kbps)

Had to revert back the settings to static.

I installed a VPN and now YouTube is working on my phone. Does this means that YouTube is blocked by MTNL? -_-

I'm facing the same problem here. But I read it somewhere that this problem has something to do with TP-Link devices. I'm able to play Youtube videos on my lappy (chrome/firefox ; RJ45 - W8968) but not on my android phone (wifi W8968). And the strange fact is that when I change my modem to Netgear DGN1000 Youtube videos on my phone play like before.

BTW I use BSNL DNS.

I tried changing DNS setting on my phone in advanced options in wifi setting but internet ceased to work on my phone after that.

Use the first wifi and In your phone change your VPN by Hidemanninja. Maybe this will work for you.

Thanks for the tip. As I'm no longer using W8968, I'll skip it. But I have ordered W8961ND and I think I'll have to do that when I install TP-Link W8981ND.
