Don' t go for refurbhished laptops. Also dont go for celeron laptops. They r not worth th price. Acer aspire 3002 is a good choice. Also look for iball laptops, as thier price has decreased.

I guess the Acer Aspire 3002 is getting synonymous with entry level laptops and almost the only choice which many have. Check this thread for any info on the same laptop.

Hello,

Acer 3002 is inspiring me, the other choice I have is:-

Zenith Executive at 41k, it has Pentium 4 processor 2.26, 128 mb ram, combo etc.

If you were me, which u would have bought. Since the price difference is 5k ?

Thanks,
Zeeshan

Of course, the acer aspire 3002 !!!

The zenith one has P4. Means it will really get hot and consume too much power. Also it has only 128mb ram.

Go for acer aspire 3002 with dvd writter version. It costs about 37,000. Also if have 2k-3k extra, an additional 256k ram will be icing on the cake.

Hello,

Almost my Acer 3002 is finalized, the only thing i worry of is less battery life of 1.5 hrs, but they are giving a free MP3 player with Acer 3002!! Plus, I can get an extra battery at some 2.5k, so all in all, thanks for all help.

The on road price of Acer 3002 here at jaipur is 34,200/-

Thanks,

i mean it has

"Processor: Mobile AMD Sempronâ„¢ processor 2800+(1.6 GHz)"

Is this comparable to speed of Intel Pentium M centrino mobile 1.5 Ghz????????????????

Easily comparable d00d as i heard AMD is much faster than INT in performance.

Also, go for a better clock speed

Eh? Sempron 1.6GHz better than Pentium M 1.5GHz

Mate, the Sempron competes with the Celeron and NOT the Centrino/Pentium M. The Centrino platform is way better than Sempron.

@sincereheart: You might have to push your budget beyond 50k to get a good Centrino system.
