Can you please share the link of that drone?
Look here, lots of options: drones - Buy Cheap drones - From Banggood

Although the Rs 1k drone which my friend bought didn't prove to be much useful. It was so small that we couldn't even handle a GoPro style action cam. So a good drone with sufficient size would be advisable. If you want to buy a proper DJI drones though, I would advice to wait a couple of months. New laws around drones in India are coming.

Resistance Bands | Resistance Tubes : Exercise material. I was advised to get a resistance band for a shoulder injury. And I loved it! Its like a mini gym, sort of.
Basically they are very stretchable bands and ropes. Come in various shapes and sets and strengths. loops, open bands, tubes, ropes, some with removeable handles etc..
IMP: You want good quality ones or risk smacking yourself with a one that breaks on stretching, LOADS of fake duplicate stuff out there.

Whole set of about 5 ropes with some handles seems to cost Rs. 1500. Bands - Rs. 800
The Resistance Tubes you linked to opens Cockatoo 5 in 1 Exercise Toning Tube Set. Is this what you meant? Currently it's on lightning deal at Rs 1599. Is it the best price?

Needles for those with poor eyesight. Rs. 50 for 10 pieces

This one was introduced to me by my mom :D . Picture explains :

*ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1QPcnb7fb_uJkSnfoq6z_epXaa/Hot-Elderly-Needle-side-Hole-Blind-Needless-threading-hand-household-Sewing-Manual-DIY-Home-Sewing.jpg_640x640.jpg

Needles where its (supposed to be) easy for anyone to put in the thread. Ordered 15 days ago, but seller is using a slower method of shipping. Advertised one was fast. Will probably have to dispute on aliexpress.. Should also be available on desi ecommerce. Try "Elderly Needle" "Blind needle" threading needles"

Questions/Discussion thread

The price as of now is $0.61, shipping is free and new users have a $3 coupon. Will this come for free or is there any minimum purchase required for that coupon?

@cute.bandar Which shipping method you select for aliexpress, aliexpress standard shipping or something else?

@billubakra Not sure about minimum purchase price. they do show exact amount you have to pay. So just proceed to checkout and see.

@whitestar_999 . For shipping method I try to go for the cheapest registered shipping method. Any one with tracking. Have lost a couple of cheap packages with "china post for small items"

Also: gentle suggestion to have separate theard/s for discussion.

Tack it - Reuseable gum - Rs. 100

*m.media-amazon.com/images/S/aplus-media/sota/58424cc5-0daa-4526-b591-0c913cde8934._CR0,0,970,300_PT0_SX970__.jpg

The great thing is they are removeable and even reuseable. Can make any surface magnetic, in the sense anything can be stuck anywhere. Like chewing gum. Except they don't go dry/hard and are not gross.
Not strong, but can be easily applied and reapplied for a variety of uses. I used them for creating hooks to hang wires, covering annoying LED lights , making sure wires don't come between a door , turn normal paper into sticky notes and you get the idea. Very useful. Highly recommended

Oh and the original concept is some foreign blutack thing. Can't comment on that, it is available on amazon though.. This faber castell works well

Discussion/Questions here please
I use double sided tape to stick posters and other stuff. Does this Faber castell thing, more worth than double sided tape?
cute.bandar
Apr 13, 2019 at 1:29 PM
Tackit is different from a double sided tape. Has advantages for sticking certain things over double sided tape. Since its thick it can stick non-flat things, like wires, metal pieces. For sticking posters it may have an advantage of being less permanent .

Magic erasor. melamine foam. Melamine is used for soundproofing, turns out its great for cleaning as well.
Cleans stuff. Have used it. Its easy. and does work like magic. Needs some moisture, no soap.
Not completely reuseable. breaks down little by little. But still lasts long enough.

Very Cheap! Aliexpress: Rs. 65 for 10 . Big bazaar: Rs. 50 for one :/ . Though Aliexpress with free shipping may take 2 months, if it arrives.

Yes,nowadays customs is implementing laws more strictly after people started ordering huge quantities of products from China for commercial usage resulting in lots of hue & cry from Indian traders.

Glue gun is important to get good quality glue sticks
They do not work as intended always, having trouble sticking magnet to foam for example.

Looking to buy / build / outsource a
Mini Air Conditioner that can cool a server rack cabinet.(well its in a closet now)
that can run 24x7 like a refrigerator(maybe add in a evaporator to the fridge and throw in some fan)
with less power, < 500W maximum.

I cant keep a 1/1.5 ton as running always or spending a bomb like 20k for a portable ac(flipkart/bluestar etc) which are of 1.5t and use >1000w power.

equipment to be cooled:
16 x 2 HikVision 5MP dvrs with 4tb hdd's ( unbearable to touch , that hot due to h265 pro + compression tech)
16 x 2 ERD 12v Power supplies
Cisco 16 port Gigabit Switch
CCL 16 port EPABX
a normal PC.

^^Difficult to buy as getting such item from aliexpress/abroad will surely attract the attention of customs officer resulting in a levying of extra customs duty large enough to make the product not worth its price anymore. I just thought of this casually but how about installing/keeping a small refrigerator with its door open towards the direction of cabinet/setup.

Thermoelectric plates based coolers are an option. There will be some ready made solutions, but don't know about availability /cost. Building is also an option: But it will a fairly involved process. youtube has several videos.

The thermoelectric plate - peltier module is itself very cheap. Rs. 150. Costs add with heatsinks and fans and power supply. Also theoretically these plates are less efficient than the compressor based cooling solutions, like our typical AC's. One small peltier plate can consume 12v * 5A = 60W. but if the the cooling requirements are not extensive, a couple or more plates may do the job. I don't have practical experience with these btw, so can't comment on cooling capacity of one plate. My source of info is youtube. If serious I suggest asking for help in more technical/electrical forums

I thought fridge needs special features to add moisture(all those moisture feature to keep fruits/veggies fresh) A Comprehensive Guide to Your Fridge's Humidity Drawers | Bosch Home Appliances

As for humidity,I think that is only an issue if your local climate has high moisture to begin with.Fridge by itself does not produce moisture & condensation needs water vapour present in air.You can try these for extra safety *www.amazon.in/Desiccants-Packets-moisture-Cameras-Electronics/dp/B00GXKVLPE Of course I suggest doing a trial run for few days/week with some other appliances to see if it is feasible before trying it out with actual setup.

I have seen some switches in 2U rack running with lots of inverter batteries in a small room(no hdd though) with no AC(office has them but server room door usually closed/half open) so still avg temps ~30-35C. I think just providing proper ventilation & some cool surrounding atmosphere(say a single water cooler cooling the entire room in a direction away from setup) with a ceiling fan should be enough to keep hdd temps below 50C. This is assuming that your area local temps are not too high(say crossing 45C routinely) & your room is not the top floor.

here tomorrow 43 deg. today 42. no other ac except Fujitsu General 52 deg ones (og has them since ages) works for this climate.

hdd was 50 degrees when i saw 2 days back.
dvr body where the motherboard resides, i am sure can boil a egg. it has extreme compression tech, that 1 cam 5mp @ 2k is only 1gb per day.

Try placing a small fan blowing air directly over the dvr body+some more ventilation around the setup & hopefully it should bring down hdd temps to below 50C.

i avoid fans because of dust. a closed cabinet with a small aircon and a air intake filter for that would be perfect.

how about getting a used frost dree double door refrigerator, and making it barebones with the compressor, evaporator and condenser with a temperature control circuit?
using a powerful fan for the evaporator (like a window ac) seems promising. will keep condenser separately out of the cabinet / drill a vent hole on the wall for hot air to get out of the room

Seems possible but like I said,do a trial run with some other equipment first. Also not sure but compressor has some safety guidelines so not sure how much you can/should modify it.

after seeing videos on youtube, explosion during gas charge i will not do any experiments, especially with the new r32/r410a gases. these are high pressure and flammable compared to r22 which is low pressure(half of r32/r410a) and not that explosive nature.
