skeletor #2 Nov 21, 2010 at 4:30 PM USB 2.0 to Gigabit Ethernet = not possible. USB 2.0 to 100mbps Ethernet = possible. PCI to Gigabit Ethernet = possible. (your motherboard needs to have an empty PCI slot) PCIexpress to Gigabit Ethernet = possible. (your motherboard needs to have an empty PCIexpress slot) Go for any reputed brand like Netgear, D-link, Linksys etc.
skeletor #4 Nov 21, 2010 at 5:12 PM Gigabit Ethernet card should be Rs.800 for both PCI and PCIe. Local USB 2.0 to 100mbps Ethernet adapter should be around Rs.250. From the companies mentioned above, it could be around Rs.500.
S shenoyanish #5 Nov 21, 2010 at 5:22 PM My laptop is a studio 15. It only has an ExpressCard 34mm slot. So will the PCIe devices work with it? or are they pcmcia cards? Is it possible to get a Belkin Gigabit Ethernet ExpressCard in India? Which dealers sell it?
skeletor #6 Nov 21, 2010 at 5:37 PM PCI and PCIe are for desktops. They won't work with your laptop. You should have mentioned first that you had a laptop. Now Gigabit Ethernet ExpressCard will be very hard to find. I'm trying to find. Edit: couldn't find it anywhere.
