My friend's pc got infected by a virus. He has removed the virus but now the C: (windows drive ) drive doesn't open up. It shows Open with dialog box. I know that some autorun.inf file is to be deleted but i don't know how. Please help.

I quote Dheeraj_kumar
start->run "cmd"

go to each drive, type "del autorun.inf"

Repeat in all drives.

Run NOD32 and Spybot Search n Destroy to clean your comp.

Please search b4 posting.

Download escan ISS from following link. It is 30 days trial version.
It's very effective on virus/spyware/trojan/worms & has nice firewall too without reducing PC's performance.

The default password is: admin

*update6.mwti.net/download/escan10/RC1/iwn2k3ek.exe

Go to start>all programs>escan for windows>quickscan you system
Choose scan spyware ,drive. (Don't tick scan only)
