2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: Apple,Dell, HP, Lenovo, Viao
b. Dislike: All others

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
This is in the order of preference:
1. Movies
2. College work (I'll be opting for Civil Engineering)
3. Gaming

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
No preference.

6) Anything else you would like to say? (eg: local purchase, ASS,matte/glossy finish)
Local purchase from Nagpur.

HP dv6-7012tx but if you don't game a lot then Sony CB45.

HP well known for heating issues.
But i suggest you to wait atleast a month for brands to launch 3rd gen. iCore processors with decent pricing.

hp dv6-6265tc if more like INTO gaming !! (though, it will be had to find in local shops now, its out of market now, though u can buy it on internet

Sony CB45 will be a very good option for you, it costs around 51k
