Are WCDMA and CDMA different tech ? Many dual sim phones say GSM + WCDMA . Does this mean its a GSM and CDMA (reliance) compatible phone ?
For eg, the Xiomi Redmini note , the new launch one on FlipKart states that it is GSM + WCDMA. Would this accept CDMA (reliance) sim ???

WCDMA = 3g GSM
Redmi Note doesn't supports CDMA networks.

Yeah, WCDMA is your basic 3G. HSUPA and HSDPA are improvements on the 3G technology.
In terms of speed, generally, HSDPA > HSUPA > WCDMA.

ok thankx guys... I am at my wits end trying to buy a CDMA compatible one with reliance network, a smartphone but all I get is the most useless type of phone. Please help and suggest guys....

What I can do is to take number portability and convert from reliance cdma to voda or airtel gsm..... I could use a gsm phone then but I loose the vastly superior cdma network... and I prefer cdma much more over gsm
