7850 is much better.........650 series are overpriced

IMO if 650 ti boost can match the performance and price, its a much better option because of TxAA

the competition of GTX 650 Ti Boost is with HD7790 not HD7850 ;-)

The 2GB version is just slower than the 7850 and priced a smidgen lower as well, so it IS fighting the 7850.
The 1GB version fights the 7790.

Re: We have a 7790 competitor now. Welcome "Geforce GTX 650 Ti boost"

yes exactly,650ti 1 GB version will compete with 7790 and 2GB version will compete with 7850 2 GB.so according to anandtech review 7850 is faster than 650Ti boost and bit higher prices of 7850( if it is there after rebates because after rebates their price comes very close) is justified by the bundled games which you will get along with it.btw don't bother to look at tom's review because they have compared 650Ti boost with 7850 1 GB version in which they both perform equally.so after this release also 7850 is a better choice in that segment but we may see some price cuts in AMD's side.
btw we still don't have 650Ti 1 Gb version reviews.

can we expect the non boost version's price to fall down after this ?

how many GTX 650 do we need?

Like anandtech put it, this card is more appropriately called the 660 Lite or something similar, rather than being called a 650 Ti Boost.

If it was named "GTX 660 Lite", then how many 660 do we need?

nVidia should get their naming scheme sorted.

I'd much rather have AMD have their naming scheme sorted. The Nvidia names sound more logical to me.

^ We now have
GTX 650, GTX 650 (amp or overclocked edition), GTX 650 Ti 1GB, GTX 650 Ti 1 GB (Overclock edition), GTX 650 Ti 2 GB, GTX 650 Ti 2GB (Overclock Edition) and GTX 650 Ti Boost
and you say AMD needs to change it's naming scheme ?

Yeah, dont you see at a glance how the performance should largely look like? The OCed cards slightly better than their regular counterparts and Boost > Ti > vanilla and 2GB >= 1GB approximately.

Now look at model numbers like 7790, 7850, 7870, 7950. How do I tell at a glance how the performance hierarchy will be, unless I have actively followed their reviews? Or am I missing something here?

Re: We have a 7790 competitor now. Welcome "Geforce GTX 650 Ti boost"

1000th digit - Generation
100th digit - Performance Category
10th digit - Performance sub category
Its not that hard
7950>7870>7850>7790
100th digit always matters most, followed by 10th
Its a sound nomenclature

Nothing at all is wrong with AMD's scheme.

Simple numbers. No confusion.

common sense. :) Just see which number is greater than the other.

Totally agree with Nerevarine. AMD/ATI Nomenclature is easy to understand.
Get your sh** together NVidia.

PS Which one should I buy if my budget is 10K?
BTW Indian pricing estimates of the GTX 650 Boost and the HD7790?
Out of the 3 (Inc. HD 7850 1GB) which will have the max VFM?

yeah, right but I think there won't be much performance difference between 1GB and 2GB variant and the 1GB variant is what most people may buy. And as per the naming oes this should be named as GTX 655 ;-)

Had it been a 256-Bit or atleast 192-Bit card, it would have been a better VFM option.

yes a competitor to radeon 7850, but only just yesterday saw it go past radeon 7870 on a "gaming evolved" game bioshock:infinite on guru3d.com @ 1920x1200 but only with fxaa. nvidia is really making some very good optimized drivers, amd should fight back with "never settle 2" performance enhancing drivers.
also i would like to add that radeon 7790 is very power efficient (85w) than gtx 650 ti boost.

I think it would be priced in 13k region

13k is too much .. should be priced around 10-11k to compete with HD7790. This will in turn reduce the price of GTX 650 Ti around ~8-9k and will compete with HD7770.
