Welcome to Thinkdigit v3!

Welcome to the new design for the Thinkdigit website!

Once again Digit puts you through the minor inconvenience of redefining your reality...

Has the website really changed? Or is just the Matrix telling you that it has? How can you really know that the website really HAS changed if everything you can see, smell, feel, touch and taste is suspect?

Does it really matter if the features are this cool?

* New layout with easier access to the information with related and popular stories.
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_thinkdigitv3.jpg
* Easier access to breaking news with Top Stories, Latest Headlines and Announcements!
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_latest-headlines.jpg
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_todays-top.jpg
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_headlines.jpg
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_latest-headlines.jpg
* New upgraded reviews mechanism, with clearly visible ratings, pros, cons, specifications...
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_latest-reviews.jpg
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_reviews-ataglance.jpg
* Article thumbnails, so you can see before you touch, as you momma always told you!
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_thumbnail-article.jpg
* Better forums integration with related forum topics for articles and categories
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_forum-talks.jpg
* Image galleries for each article
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_gallery.jpg
* New Video Reviews!
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_video-reviews.jpg
* Agent 001 is now even more powerful.
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_agent001.jpg
* Clearer article ratings.
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_rating.jpg
* Easier and faster commenting and rating emailing and sharing
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_commenting.jpg
*i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/antispin/th_email.jpg
* 186% more awesome

The Thinkdigit has you...

We would love to get your feedback, and information about any Déjà vu... err... sorry bug you notice on the website.

To discuss, and leave feedback go to the forums, Welcome to Thinkdigit v3!

Re: Welcome to the new Thinkdigit!

* 186% more awesome
It would become 200% is the site doesn't go down for hours altogether w/o notice.

Here's a BUG, and a BIG one too.
* Easier and faster commenting and rating emailing and sharing
Everytime I use quick reply, I get this message.
"The following errors occurred with your submission"

Although the message does get submitted, sometimes it doesn't, and i'll have to refresh to find out!

Then it's no way different from the old "Post Reply."

The only time that I look at thinkdigit.com is during last two days of month to check content of new magazine.

On the other hand, I use thinkdigit.com/forum for every day and I do it a lot.

I don't care what you do to thinkdigit.com but please fix the bugs that are creating headache here.

That was mean! When have I not listened to the members?

Forum version upgraded 3.7.1 > 3.8.2 -- so hopefully that will solve a few of the problems. The rest to be solved within a week or two, I'm taking the downtimes very seriously.

Merlin = Ahmed Shaikh -- most of the older readers will remember him.

This post however, was NOT made by Ahmed... yes, I know who you are ;)

Now that you've let the cat out of the bag, yes we have a new site coming soon, and I mean soon.

Please wait a little longer while we update the site and forum. Things will be a little iffy for a few hours today, but once it's done, you can start the feedback here again.

You know what, most people don't give a damn to Digit's website. They just care about the forum. Our bookmarks point to www.thinkdigit.com/forum and not www.thinkdigit.com. I mean to say that there are 100s of good "daily dose" tech news sites which I must say, are waaaay better that Digit's home page. Where Digit's online presence scores is in the forums. So please, prioritise.

how about taking our request seriously and downgrade 3.8.2 to 1.0.0!!!!

we don't want eye candy. We want a forum that is fast and that doesn't think every post as a double post.

who requested these updates?? v just asked to fix the forum, not to upgrade. Those updates r meant for people who knows hw to handle a forum properly, not for TDF guys I think :rolleyes: I hav seen 17yr old high-school kids who hav their own forums...hmm, TDF admins, this is pathetic...may be worst than dat.

btw thanx Admins for giving ur attention at least now. The words may seem hard, but its just dat....we don't want to see TDF die. :smile: So gud luck...

@Raaabo, good going, the forum has become very responsive.

Also if I may bring your attention, we are missing the feature to "delete other posts by user" while deleting posts as spam. This will result in hunting down every single post of the spambots as you may also know.

And also, can we have the forum jump box please?

@gopi_vbboy - I agree with you. They are trying to improve their standard of website. They claim to be the #1 Technology magazine and therefore wants to bring in a quality website. And I don't think with such a standard Digit will like to go back in the past.:smile:

But on the other hand in the new version, if the errors still creep in, then I think the upgrade is of no use. :!:

I'm not saying to totally remove the ads, they can do it in the home page itself, why on the sides of the forum ? So that we couldn't read the threads properly ?
And for your information, WinMatrix, TechEnclave, Neowin, they all make up from adds in their home pages and keep the forum clean...
And have you ever tried v1 ? It was so awesome and so fast, it didn't pain our eyes and the forum was so responsive...

Raaboo,

The site can be made to look like softpedia.com site which contains all information in the homepage.
The forum is slow nowadays and sometimes reporting timed out.
Who is your webhost?
You can use ASP.NET 3.5 and Silverlight to make site more attractive if your host supports it. Silverlight is very intelligent..
Why not a Digit blog synonymous to Digit dairy? That will definitely click.
