I wonder wht these settings are meant for .. ?

I know most of the settings in but have never touched these EC mode or FDM mode and BitSwap enabling or disabling

What is your model no?
Mine is MT880 and I have no such settings.

Its MT841 and you can find settings under Adavnce --> ADSL -->
