Migrated to linux long back. Tried Vista to see how it is. Nice improvement but doesn't give me the flexibility I love linux for.
And yeah MS should really dump that UAC for something different. It's so irritating that people will eventually switch it off, so it's final effect will be nullified.

I bought XP now because its only now that it has become buyable. As for Vista I will never buy it coz by the next World Cup, ReactOS would have matured enough to suit my needs.

Since Vista has some compatibility issues, I am planning to stick with
Windows XP :) and would consider changing to Vista once Service Pack 1 is ready

The fourth option should be similar to the third option, i.e. 'Switch to Mac/I already use Mac'. And it is spelled 'Mac', not 'MAC'. :)

Vitsa is lying in my hdd (separate 80 gb ) . Got couple of cobwebs. One thing i noticed it MS has made it less configurable .. like the boot.ini is not editable. So XP is default boot. Vista is rotting till i find another linux distro ..Major problem with both : no software support. And eye candy ? are you kiddin me .. Mac/Linux are better off..and i dare say even XP :)
So its Xp + Office 2007 (final) MS's Best invention till date

I am sorry but I would beg to differ here. Vista is, IMHO, the best looking operating system in the market at present. It has got beautiful, huge icons and a nice glossy, shiny interface. Makes you feel that the whole thing is fragile and polished. Mac OS X seems a bit outdated when it comes to looks compared to Vista (though that may be because I am more used to it and Vista is new). However, Vista could do with better animations and a little anti-alaising throughout the system.
And you actually think that XP looked better than Vista!!! What is this, some sort of reverse psychology!

Shiny glossy big icons .. all possible in all most every disro of linux ( see openSuse ) . And when i ment Xp , i ment you could mod it too look as good as vista ..but then i am not too fond of it , i stick to classic :)

Is it really? I have never seen 256x256 icons on any other operating system. Could you show me a screenshot or two of some Linux distro having it?

And you said XP's eye candy is better than Vista and now you are saying that XP can be modified to look as good as Vista. A bit of a contradiction there, isn't it? :)
