Hai friends,

Someone from our hostel stole my mobile.

What to do in such cases? I was having Nokia 3100 with 1 yr insurance.

Will I be able to get the same mobile? Will the insurance company give money ? How much time it will take??

Please reply fast. Thanks

How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

Mobile users - Suppose your cell phone is stolen. What will you do?

Here are some tips. Read it. Please forward it to as many people you
can.

How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

A bit of useful information. Just in case you happen to lose your
mobile or it gets flogged.

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following
digits on your phone:

* # 0 6 #

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to
your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.

Should your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and
give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so
even if the thief changes the SIM card your phone will be totally
useless.

You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that
whoever stole it can't use/sell it either.

If everybody did this, there would be no point in stealing mobile
phones.

1.Block ur SIM
2.File and FIR
3.Send the insurance paper n FIR copy to the insurance company.
4.Buy a new phone or wait for the insurance company to send u the money,.... money will take 2 months..insurance company will giv u ony 70-80% of the total price of the mobile.
5. if u r waiting for the money then wait for 2 months ....
6. by that time the same mobile price wud have fallen to 70-80% of the price for which u had purchased...
7. when u get the money frm the insurance company u can buy the same mobile model with the money the insurance company sent u
8. if u can afford buy a better piece..

I went to the police station, filed an FIR. Then I went to the Serveice Provider's office, blocked the sim.

Then I have sent the FIR, a certificate frm the service provieder that the sim is blocked, Original Invoice, Original Insurance Cert., to the insurance company.

I m keeping my fingers crossed and waitin to see what happens next.

BTW which mob shud I buy.

How is N6610. My budget is 6000-7000.

Please reply soon,

Bye and Thanks

Any/All the details shown by *#92702689# can be changed, using soe sofisticated software and data cables, but its not that easy and oridanary cell thefs cant do it. Thats the way those grey marketers unlock the locked phones that are smugled into the country.
