Skoar! hasn't been published for about 5-6 months now! I heard they got into a piracy-related legal issue. I used to like skoar's attitude, it really was the best damn mag in the world! It was even better than digit! Does anyone know actually what happenedout there? The skoar! forums have got no posts discussing this! As if it's already dead! Ooooh, creepy!

I heard they got into a piracy-related legal issue
why am i not surprised?

How did they think they can get out easily after providing games with keygens and fixed exe. Their forums were bullsh1t and abused ryone who dared to question...duh!!
One day the started yelling, forum hacked, forum hacked!! And all database was cleared and started from scratch[ lol ]
And the further issues was like.. a mockery to readers.

nyway, its sad to hear we lost one among the few gaming mags in India. At least their reviews were good and so the paper quality:D
disc contents too was impressive, though some were pir@ted.

There has been many discussions bout it, all ended up in thread locking, banning and warnings!!
I just said for info....i dun wanna get banned.:)

Piracy

Skoar! has been including full version pirated games in their DVDs. Skoar! denies this fact however, claiming that the games are abandonware even though these games are still being sold at well known shopping stores including online sites like Amazon.com. The DVDs they provide also contain keygens and No-CD crack for the games they provide, some of the games previously included in the DVDs were Call of Duty[1], Mafia, Half Life, Rayman 1 and many others. The march 2007 issue also featured the first-person shooter game, Max Payne with its crack . The recent August 2007 issue[2] contained full versions of NFS[3], Quake 2[4],Thief 1 and Thief 2 along with their No-CD crack. [5]

[edit]
Abusive language use

The editor of Skoar, 'Badri Narayan' replies to the readers' letters with swear words and mockery. They have even created a section called "retard of the month" to feature the most hated letter of him.It is also alleged that most of the letters are fake, created in order to raise publicity and a look of style.

[edit]
Editing writers' articles without informing

The game articles like reviews, priews etc. are edited by staff without informing the freelancer writers of this, to include more vulgar language and change the intended outlook of the write-up. This is done often and has led to a loss of popularity of the magazine.

:lol:lol! They sure messed it up for themselves! I didn't know that wikipedia had stuff against them. The attitude problem was OK for me( I never wrote to them;-)) Is there any other gaming mag in India? I had heard that CGW had been closed.

Is this stuff real? I mean the editor mocked readers? What a low life, deserved to get fired.

And isn't skoar a sister of Digit? Have the 9dot9 group bought the skoar busniess along with digit too?

I guess this is the reason many are switching to PC World(I still think it sucks
It provides Game Pro PDF with it...

And yes, I think if this is true then Skoar! is surely a gonner.
Pirated Games.
Foul Language.
Direct Abuse.
Questioning anything slightly non gaming related in their forum.

That sounds really ugly to me.

Yup, they've bought it and closed it! And at the time they belonged to Jasubhai ltd. Skoar! and Digit were the two best mags in the world. Skoar! wasn't that bad. The stuff on wikipedia might be true, the stuff about false readers letters so they can abuse them. Anyway, the mag used to be a real nice(and only;)) gaming mag in India.
