I would vote for lite-on DVD-drives... ultra reliable and give highest burn speeds:smile:

Guyz sorry for the interruption, but really i do have a sony DVD RW(which is connected through A IDE to sata adapter),and its speed is really terrible.
So i need to get one which is more reliable in terms of reading DVD's.

(which is connected through A IDE to sata adapter)

These adapters are useless...the speed problem is due to that only...get SAMSUNG or ASUS...do not get into this debate better go to the nearby shop and buy one for you...

you cant say like that.My 5 year old Sony DVD RW working fine in my old p4 rig with out any single issue. Many of my friends have SONY (recommended by me) zero issues so far.
So I have a solid reason to recommend it.

Lately my Lite On DVD drive stopped working and i gave it to some guys(namely Silicon Technologies)and they couldn't fix it. So this time i bought a Sony one.....and moreover if something happens...I can reach Rashi Peripherals Any time

Make sure all the connections are proper...A new hardware such a this should not fail on its maiden trial. It is properly tested before sending in the market. Why do not you get help from someone more experienced in hardware?
If all else fails, take the cabinet to the store from where you have made the purchase...it will work out... :)
