Windows Vista home premium, that too only when all the apps i need have been updated for Vista. Else I will be using XP on this system for even long time

anyways, I'd like to adopt a wait and watch policy. If vista turns out to be relatively bug-free and stable, then buying Vista ultimate won't be a bad decision in the long run.

I have a pirated version, but ms detects it as original/genuine. I was able to install wmp11, ie7 and of course all updates. I even got an offer to get airtel broadband free for 3 months with free installation.tech_mastermind said:

Naah, Linux if they stop support for XP anytime. I don't think vista will ever be an option for me.
