Which software is good for DVD ripping to DivX

Hi all,

I used Gordian Knot as my DVD to DivX conversion process ... it works fine but it takes a hell lot of time(approximately 15-16 hours) and the quality is good ... but my friends r using XMpeg which takes at the max 2 hrs to do the same process .. why is that case ...? why cant gordian knot able to something like that ...
i like the interface of Gordian knot ... if u work in that .. it make u feel as tho u r a geek ...

Xmpeg, does it convert dvd to divx ? Since ur converting frm dvd or mpeg2 to divx or avi format which is entirely a different format. While mpeg2 to mpeg1 which i m guessing ur frnd is doing takes considerably lesser time than avi conversion.

but yet .. 15 hrs ???????????
nono dude .. theres something seriously wrong
tho i use diff programs
i say at an avg ... 6 hours ... maybe 8 even ...
15 ??? no way .. thats too much
