Go to Settings>WiFi>Advance (pressing menu will bring up advance menu)> check if it has any support for changing channel. In my mobile this thing was there in Android 2.2 & 2.3 but no longer present in 4.0. So if its there, try changing channel.

Something wrong with router? Is it detected by other device? did you set it up correctly?

Check if you have enabled the option to show SSID. Some routers have this option disabled to potect un authorized access.

And my router has been deteted by all of the wifi enabled devices ever encountered by it.
and yes ssid broadcast is open ..
