can anyone tell me whether Solaris 8 works on an AMD processor

Yes it works. I am using it for the last month or so. The AMD cpu is capable of executing i386 code and thats what makes it execute all intel specific sw/os.

thank you pradeep, do you know which AMD processor is best to buy inplace of Pentium 4 HT 3GHz,and is Pentium 4 32 bit or 64 bit processor
