Need urgent help in this regard. Posting this from my desktop.

I updated the windows update yesterday and then with next logon I am getting access to all the http sites for about a minute or two and then its getting blocked. The browsers were IE and Chrome. Even downloaded the opera and checked with that, but no joy. Surprisingly the https sites are opening without a glitch. Restart the pc to get access again for a brief time and again access gets blocked.

Need help.

Click Start menu. Type firewall, and press enter.
In the window which opens, disable firewall to see if that helps.

@Vyom
Thanks dear. Figured out the problem and got it solved as well. Though I had tried the firewall method too but that was not the real problem.

Will share it for the sake of others (if ever required). Actuall found 3 infections. 2 (some kind of trojans) with the help of Malawarebyte and 1 (Internet) attached to startup removed with msconfig. I remember carrying out a scan last night and removing those two trojans but at that time I didnt check the startup entry. Today removed all these three and till now no probs :).

Anyway, once again thanks vyom for the help.

@hansraj: Glad that your problem is solved. But yeah, which AV. I am using nothing other then Windows Defender on my Win 2008 R2 Server. And I think that is enough. Could I be wrong?
