My win2k prof. boots properly,the desktop also appears with all the icons double clicking on any works fine,but after few seconds only the background blue screen(not blue screen of death)remains without any icons to work with.Wat to do?
Does the icons appear. If not then right click on ur desktop
-->Arrage icons-->show desktop icons.
Does the blue background only appears around icons? If yes then go in properties on my computer than in advance--> settings(performance) . In that tick mark all the options.
Tell me if that works.

why didn't you go prop'ly with the post. he mentioned that boots ok with all the desktop icons. i think after closing any window, the icons are not appeared. m i right?.......
try to adjust the refresh rate. if not... reinstall your VGA driver..
Done everything uninstalled all the softwares including VGA in safe mode but nothing doin.It just becomes stand still but the mouse is moving and the alt+ctrl+del function is working.
@ warrior - he havn't mentioned that the icons r not appearing after the window closes. So how would i know?
I was also giving u a suggestion of changing Display Driver. Check ur ram. Must be loose. Happened with me once.
