Sometimes, when i boot my PC and after sucessfully booting XP, the "Windows is starting up" text appears and the computer becomes idle, even after 15-20 mins, the user login screen does not appear. But if i force restart my PC, the login screen appears.
Help me!

looks like a case of bad sectors
try runnin scandisk
