hi friends,
recently,my internet connection gets frequently disconnected.i use both satyam and sancharnet(not broad band).is it got something to do with firewall settings?

i am not able to view or modify the settings.following error appears at that time of viewing firewall settings.

"due to an unidentified problem windows cannot display windows firewall settings"

i use win xp with sp2.kindly advise

Frequent disconnection can also be because of dial-up itself.
If not, have you recently installed sp2? Also, are you able to browse, chat and do other internet activities before it disconnects?
Also try doing windows update. But your best bet will be to get an external firewall like zone alarm free version. This will disable windows firewall and then you can check if you still get disconnected.
