Well, if you're using the PC at the time of playing & if you have around 256MB RAM, i advise you disable the auto-protect of Mcafee. You wont' require it at that time. But better switch it on while you're on the net.
I guess xp pro would be a good option. Many indeo codecs & other drivers require specifically the Pro version.
Savvy! :D

Use a small software named "GameXP"

It will tweak ur OS for best gaming performance n speeding up ur OS.

It disables all the unwanted services n does something more.

So be it be home or Pro, use "GameXP" for the best performance.

As far as gaming is concerned, there really is no difference between xp home and pro except for the fact that u can use the money saved by buying xp home to buy a few more games :D

Pro is always better option than Home.
but If you want to save your bugs then there are not many differences between xp and home.
Offcourse people say XP provides better option over Internet and some bloaty applications.
Go for XP only if you desire to have best and for ergonomical use take Home edition.

take anyone, as u wanna game, go for a home as atleast it is cheaper than pro...

@author = i understand that money is no factor as ur name suggests it.

Use anything u want

Windows XP Pro or XP Home
Which version of Windows XP do you need? Are there big differences? The applications and multimedia features of both versions of Windows XP are the same. The biggest difference is in their networking capabilities. XP Pro is designed for businesses using networks and offers more versatility with networks. You can still set up a network with XP Home, it just isn’t as automatic and lacks a couple of features designed to make it easier to access your documents and settings from any workstation or PC on the network. This includes a “Roaming User Profile with which I can access all the files on my PC from another PC not just the files in my shared folders. If that type of access is not what you need, consider the $100 price difference between the two versions.

A serious reason you may want to use XP Home at home and XP Pro at the office is the Remote Desktop feature. This allows you to access your office computer running XP Pro from a home computer running XP Home. This feature does not work the other way around. The XP Home controls the XP Pro, the XP Pro cannot control the XP Home.

also PRO takes up a bit more space than HOME which i doubt will affect ur thought ...

Hey i dont think xp home edition can support multiple cpus.So i you are having a hyperthreaded processor then i think pro would be a little bit advantageous.Otherwise i think they will be equa;;y good.
