Well, i was wondering if a wireless router connected to a PC could also act as a receiver like the wireless receivers in laptops?
or do i need a PCMCIA card for that?

okay, what i am trying to say is.. suppose there is a wi-fi network around you. and, just like you can use portable wi-fi enabled devices(netbook, phones, lappies) to access that network using the wireless communication available in them, can you similarly use a wifi router to achieve that for a desktop? or is there any other specific hardware required for that?
