XP activation prob!!!

I have an acer travelmate 370 laptop... it came preinstalled with windows xp professional (oem version).
few days ago, i formatted my system and had to reinstall the OS (pirated one) coz i didnt get any cd with the lappy.. but i have that sticker pasted on the back of lappy (with serial no.) saying microsoft windows cp 1-2cpu acer incorporated..
this copy of windows is not activating(why would it!!!)
i tried changin the key but the key which i have is not working...
what should i do????

Rewrite the product key with the s/n in sticker (for this, there are a few tools available on the net, one was even recently mentioned in the forum) and reactivate legally... If that does not work, contact acer...

i think the prob is because of different categ. of os.. i.e. one is OEM and other is retail....

Ofcourse, the keys wont work with different categories. Contact acer for ur winxp copy.

get a copy of the oem cd (pirated would be enough, or get it through a p2p) and use ur own serial, itz legal.
