styleXP 2.16 works best with xpsp2 systems for chngin boot screens...

also check DA's boot screen gallery...

Check out themexp.org its cool gallery which has the direct ntoskrnl.exe file which u can replace for changing ur boot screen instead of using a 3rd party software.

BootSkin from Stardock doesn't wrk in my pc............
After showing the bootscreen, an error appears and i've to select "Last known Good Configuration" from the boot menu to boot............

The error says "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". Plz hlp as i am unable to use "BootSkin" from Stardock.

i suggest you do it your self. using bootup screens from the net could crash your system . its pretty easy to edit the bootup screen file ntoskrnl.exe using resource hacker. there are a lot of tutorials out there on the net. yet again i suggest you wont achieve much by having your own bootup screen cause you can use only 16 colours! so if you think you could have a neat supernova as your bootup screen it would disappoint you. max you could do is take the pic to photoshop and choose any 16 colours! anyways have a go at it . its a nice experience to do it yourself. and try changing the login screen too, by hacking into logonui.exe. yes you can use any no of colours there!

i mentioned that dint i? resource hacker.
ok here goes in detail what you exactly need:
1. resource hacker or Resource Builder
2. the above two are for experienced users. if you are not familiar with em theres another freeware ) Boot Editor - but you cant make login screens with this .
3. image editing software. photshop or psp. i prefer psp.
4.most important! a backup of your ntoskrnl.exe and logonui.exe.

the risk in downloading bootup screens off the net and applying em is that if their version of the file is different from yours then your in for it mate!
pm me your email id. i ll mail you the docs which teach you how to edit the files from ground up.
and if you wanna fly, you may crash!
