Moto G no doubt .. but don't get the 8 gb , get the 16 gb version only.. Performance might be slightly better in xperia M but moto G just has so much more other advantages that there is no competition at that price.. its bang for the buck at that price

Besides the weaker hardware on Xperia M, it won't even be getting Android 4.4 for sure, while Moto G already comes with KitKat.

After using Nexus for about a year, I can say one thing for sure.......... Android updates are not everything + there isn't much difference between JB & KK that general users will feel. Xperia M has got 4.3 upgrade. I still prefer Touchwiz UI over stock UI, mainly because of tweaks that manufacturer incorporates

There isn't much performance difference between Xperia M & Moto G ....... But overall G is better due to better screen ..... Limited storage might be an issue for few, but I think 13GB should suffice most people easily.

So, Moto G is better

since when did xperia M hardware became weak ?
both cpu and gpu performance (due to lower resolution ) are much more poweful than moto G.

sure in every other department moto G trumps everything and does not have any competition but don't say xperia M is a weak performer

nah Kitkat has 1 thing that makes it very unique that is it is optimized for 512 Mb ram devices , so the actual free Ram available for Apps is much larger in kitkat.. sure it does also brings that crappy Memory card restrictions wit it .. but i think kitkat is a much needed in low end phones especially for those that has less than 1 gb ram.. rest i haven't used it personally and can guess that by your experience the visible difference is very less..

obv thatXperia M has got 4.3 upgrade. I still prefer Touchwiz UI over stock UI, mainly because of tweaks that manufacturer incorporates

yeah me too i also don't prefer stock at all , it looks very plain and basic and these OEM skins at least make it look different so in essense it feels like it is completely different OS

I happened to buy both this week for two of my colleagues. Both are really good and both have their advantages over the other, all which were said above. Additionally, G's screen is the best you can get at this price and it has got KitKat out of the box. It is pretty much sure to get the next update as well. And M has Touchwiz which is slick Sony UI, but no guarantee about KitKat and forget the next update. If the absence of SD card slot is not a deal breaker, G is the way, otherwise M.

OTG looks awkward...... As i said 13GB user available storage is enough for many........ If u own a laptop, then its even better
Thats what i said ... OTG is available you can use it if you want to store your extra data .

People Tend to show off mate ...... consider the incident where you are showing your phone to a friend and he/she says "wth ! is this ??!" then you make a face what to say that if he/she will really be jealous.

Note: No offense, if you have money you can show off!
btw thats a nice OTG connecter and pretty compact too .. never seen that. Only seen 10cm cables..

I guess you are not aware that the market is already getting populated with OTG drives: Pen Drives - Buy Pen Drives Online at Best Prices in India - Storage : Computers | Flipkart.com

I am a certified user of both Xperia M and Moto G (did a comparison review few weeks back)

Moto G is the obvious choice in MOST departments. MUCH Better screen, MUCH better camera, Google Now goodies..
The only problem is the 12Gb user accessible limit. My Xperia M with 16 GB card beats it in this dept. Moreover i prefer Xperia UI over plain vanilla Kitkat. It feels like a smaller Micromax phone at times due to the phone's design and the drabby android UI. I mean whats so farkin difficult in adding quick toggles in the notification panel?? Grrrr I know one extra tap doesnt make a BIG difference but why should i make an extra tap when Samsung,LG,Sony etc etc let me do the same task without the extra tap. SO much for KitKat, try to add something user friendly and practical in your next version for Christs sake!!!

Xperia M is somewhere around Rs11k now while Moto G is Rs 13k and Rs 14k .

If you have the money go for Moto G. Its no contest. i Like Xperia M's overall software package better but thats just me. (Nothing beats Sony's Walkman player NOTHING!! )

The last thing i want to be seen doing in public is consuming media content from a USB pen drive dangling from my phone via a wire. Do you guys actually use it in public? Anyone? Do you all carry the wire and pendrive in your pocket along with your phone, wallet, keys, earphones, handkerchief etc etc?
UNLESS you are using that snazzy small tiny thingie that SaiyanGoku is using :D (saw it just now)

I don't have one. But, if I have one, I will use it when I need to, even if it is a normal USB drive dangling off an OTG cable. It is an accessory and doesn't need to be always plugged in.

Been using xperia m for a while now and have had chances to use moto g also, on many occasions. The only department i kinda feel m lags behind moto g after using it is the superb screen g has. I don't think g has better camera though because imo both m and g camera sux. And the thing about official updates most people said here are true. 4.3 is supposedly the last official update m might get while g already has 4.4 and is slated to get atleast another upcoming version. But you can always unlock bootloader and install cm if you prefer to have latest and greatest vanilla android experience on m so that's not really a deal breaker provided you can mess around with phones
