btw:do Quad's hav great perfomance tha 2Dual core's ?
The_Devil_Himself
Dec 10, 2007 at 6:32 PM
2 dual cores are no match to quad core.

and about costs?add up yourself, you know the cost of individual items already.

If I were you I would have gone for a e4500 and a low end graphic card than for q6600.Most games\applications are graphic intensive rather than cpu intensive.Haven't seen many apps\games make use of even 80% of my c2d.

The_Devil_Himself
Dec 10, 2007 at 7:04 PM
you'll need a very good mobo to match the raw power of q6600.Get the newest x38 chipset based mobos.

ABIT-IX38 quad gt----13k or something.
S
Dec 10, 2007 at 7:04 PM
nvidia 650i is gr8.
get it.its under 5k
@devil-his budget is 20k and this mobo and q6600 will make a sum total of 24k alone.

^^^no.Abtom please stop posting crap.

xfx650i ultra has no onboard video, you'll have to buy a dedicated card.

So still I'll suggest what I suggested you in my first post,it rocks.Just try to get 8600gt or something instead of 8400gs.
S
Dec 10, 2007 at 7:14 PM

wud p35 and gfx card cum in 5-6k ? with good features all that of g33
and also is q6600 is worth spendin the Xtra buck comparin e6550 ? pathiks ?
Pathik
Pathik #42
Dec 10, 2007 at 9:03 PM
yup.. q6600 is worth it.. but if u wanna save money i wd say get a Abit IP 35e + 8600gt + e2140 = 15-16k instead of dg33bu + q6600= 16-17k
you can OC the e2140 to atleast 2.6ghz on stock cooling.. and u can replace it later wen u get more money..
The_Devil_Himself
Dec 10, 2007 at 9:04 PM
biostar p35 is around 4.5k and Abit IP35 is around 6k.

and also is q6600 is worth spendin the Xtra buck comparin e6550 ?
Well this question is good.Lemme answer indirectly:If I were you,I would have got myself a e550\e6600+8600gt\gts instead of q6600+8400gs.

pathiks ?
pathiks?where are thou?

i'll suggest u not to buy a cheap G33 based mobo to run ur Q6600.u'll never get the raw pwr of the proccy.it'll be better if u can manage to buy a 2nd hand gfx card.then u can go in for XFX 650i which i think will be better than any cheap G33 chipset based solution.

I have exactly the same situation, and I had decided already my config, just saw this thread so thought of posting my view too. I'll get Intel C2D E4500, XFX 650i Ultra, 1GB RAM, XFX 8600 GT, DVD Writer, HDD, Cabinet. Will cost around 20-22k. 650i Ultra is a great platform and it doesnt have an onboard video, but since I'll get graphics card so I don't mind. This motherboard is a good, and coupled with the GFX Card it should rock.
